I've never stopped loving Jessie, 2021 was a big year for her.

She has the HBO limited series Scenes from a Marriage, an English remake of the Ingmar Bergman series from the early 70's. And she has The Eyes of Tammy Faye, a film the Religious Right aren't exactly thrilled about. I watched the film, it's driven by the unrecognizable performances of Andrew Garfield and Jessie, it separates acting from schlepping. Unlike Will Smith going off on a vanity tangent in Ali . I didn't see Muhammad Ali in that film, only an asshole playing a boxer.

I thought Jimmy Kimmel was Jewish, he's actually Italo/German ancestry. Jessie's armpits must not smell like durian.

Jimmy can't say no.

Dune should win best picture. Fantastic scenery, although I found the movie a little slow. I have to get the power of the dog in before the Oscars.

Dane, give details to support your conclusion.

Dune may not win Best Picture. A sequel is being filmed and the Academy may wait for it before giving it the accolades. Kenneth Branagh film Belfast appears to be the favorite, I haven't seen it yet.

I don't get it, Last Night in Soho has a higher audience score than Power of the Dog, yet gets shut out.

Wow Diana Rigg went out in a blaze of glory!

Anthony Hopkins got an Oscar for his 17 minutes as Hannibal Lecter, Dame Rigg gets nothing for her 12 minutes as Alex Collins. Mr Lecter wouldn't see Madame Collins coming until too late.

Edgar Wright has made some great comedies in the past, this is a departure for him. Wright takes his inspiration from The Sixth Sense and Roman Polanski's The Tenant.

He's also a rapscalion, his two leads Thomasin McEnzie and Anya Taylor Joy had to have the same breast size.

I noticed this on second viewing...I'm getting old.

Chastain's performance in Eyes of Tammy Faye is spectacular.
Don't think it deserves best picture, but she should absolutely be contending for the acting gold.

"CODA" is just a magnificent, little gem.

It's the small, underdog film that gets you right in the heart.

If there's any justice, Troy Kotsur will get a supporting award for the film in recognition.

Emilia Jones has a stunning voice and learned sign language for the film.

I watched the power of the dog, good acting and scenario. But a little slow, heavy heavy drama. I'm sure they'll win something, I like Cumberbatch.

That is one creepy movie.
A very fucked up film, it's so claustrophobic. Edgar Wright has never made a horror film before, that didn't stop him from going for the closed in dread.

The Avengers was before my time, her passing came and went with me. After watching this film, I'm seriously going to miss Diana Rigg.

This year, Kodi Smit-McPhee is the only lock to get an Oscar. Thomasin McEnzie was in both The Power of the Dog and Last Night in Soho.

Who among us wouldn't want to be Matt Smith...speak up.

The Pentagon is a plant that bears an evil fruit - The Shadow knows:eek: BTW the oscars are rigged...
Of course, how else do you explain Julia Roberts winning Best Actress over Ellen Burstyn for Requiem for a Dream. Or Born on the 4th July winning Best Picture, it's an abortion of a film.

Due to streaming services a film like CODA doesn't get into theaters. In the past I could have reserved a place in the Varsity Theater's VIP Lounge, eating spezzatini and drinking Barolo while watching the film. I'm not signing up to Apple +, not enough content to pay for itself.

Oscar darling Paolo Sorrentino has another International Film nomination Lo Mano de Dio, he won in 2014 with La Grande Belezze. He also made the under-rated Michael Caine vehicle Youth and is the creator of The Young/New Pope.
