  • Pfizer expects to sell $32 billion of its Covid-19 shots and $22 billion of its antiviral coronavirus treatment pill Paxlovid.
  • But the drugmaker posted mixed fourth-quarter results, beating on earnings but missing on revenue.
  • Pfizer forecasts $98 billion to $102 billion in sales for 2022, and adjusted earnings per share of $6.35 to $6.55.
  • On an unadjusted basis, fourth-quarter profit soared more than fourfold to $3.39 billion.

But don't worry Joe Rogan is a racist. We got him.

And Pfizer has Viagra, although their patent ran out. The pharmacist suggested the generic and it's about 1/3 of the price.

But big Pharma also lost on many other markets....

Surgery is often the number 1 revenue stream for hospitals and Pharma. And those were down a lot in 2021...

The real scandal if you ask me is the wife of Rand Paul buying shares of a pharma knowing her husband will push it publicly...

And this is just an example. Democrats are as guilty look at Pelosi making millions in market she drives law on...

Okay. Abolish "Big Pharma". Go back to the 1700's when there was no Big Pharma.

Or better still, boycott Big Pharma, so you don't contribute to their profits.

And boycott all cars because automakers make $$$$$. How about boycotting all supermarkets and grocery stores because they make $$$$ too? Go back to the 1100's when there was no capitalism. Life was better then.

How about clothing?.... We don't knit our own pants anymore. Clothing companies make $$$$ billions. Go naked. Make your dick a statement against capitalism.

How about soap and shampoo?.... Refuse to wash. That's a pretty strong statement against capitalism.

Capitalism is a part of life. There you go.

You know a $ Billion dollars seem to be loosing it's magical allure to me. Microsoft, Amazon, etc buy a small gaming software company and it is always in billions of dollars. What company doesn't have profits of billions of dollars ? Jeff Bezos just bought a vacation boat for half a billion dollars. I can say honestly that my standard of living - salary, daily expenses, etc haven't really changed in the last 10 years yet there seems to be a huge pool of money flowing in the jet stream over my head. It's hard to relate.

Sorry, just thinking out loud.

From the internet I found that Pfizer produced ~ 450,000,000 (administered) COVID doses which works out to ~ $70 profit each dose. Figuring distribution shrinkage ~ $50 profit / dose. (I wonder if it's similar to their boner pills  ) . At this point all the R&D is paid for, you are providing profit to your investors. What is fair ? Should profits be capped in the event of war or emergency ? I would be interested in the markup (profit margin) on the doses. Most people remember the entrepreneur who bought Turing Pharmaceuticals and raised the price of a life saving drug from $13.50 to $750 / pill. Were regulations placed on price gouging for life saving medicine ? Maybe some reading this knows.

This has been the "pandemic " of the super privileged, probably why the governments are freaking out about the truckers. If you are plugged in or very rich, you've made out like a thief in 21. I know a couple of people in the high end rental business and the private jet/chopper operators had a year like no other in the recent memory. Same goes for pretty much all high end sales and services. The drug companies are only the cherry on the cake. When the bill comes in, naturally, they'll be nowhere to be found because we have to share the pain equally.

A lot of this shit happens in the US where "free enterprise" works great for billionaires and multi nationals and not-great for anyone else.

I think we're all sick of this shit. Nothing is going to change it because in the US, money buys politicians.

Like I pointed out. Pfizer's profits aren't being shared with share holders. As for Turing Pharmaceuticals, they are only doing what every other pharma company is doing, with government sanction.
I just watched this
explained a lot. Didn't wind up hating Martin Shkreli after watching it. Quite an interesting doc.

I'm guessing opioids, oxycontin and other highly addictive pain meds.
