Its a good thing. But it was never going to end the pandemic.
It took a mutation into a less lethal virus to do that.
And lets hope it stays that way and doesnt mutate again
Mask mandates and restrictions will and are being lifted because of a combination of people being vaccinated and the fact that Omicron is less virulent. Trust me, I can't wait for these restrictions to end. The left isn't losing anything here. In case you haven't noticed, the mandates in Ontario were put in place by the Conservatives. JT is an idiot and I agree with very little he and the Liberals do. But I'm all for getting as many people vaccinated as possible. If that means you need to be vaccinated to go to work, a concert, a restaurant then so be it.
OTOH, none of this changes the fact that these truckers and protesters are a bunch of wingnuts.

If the protests keep putting pressure on Trudeau and speeds up the cancellation of all mandates I will consider that a win for us, and a loss for Trudeau

It’s clear what needs to happen is step down and let some else take over from the liberal party that will honour and stick to the ideas and promises of the election and what this party stands for.

That sounds like stubborn to me. The mandates should go when you don't need them anymore. What the truckers, or ever you think they, are do or don't do should have no bearing on that decision. If he allows it to prolong his decision to rescind the mandates beyond what is prudent medically he is going to lose more of his party.

You know my stance on things. But I believe its time to keep the passports but fully open up businesses at a steady pace over the next month. And to drop border testing for all vaxxed travelers. To keep mask mandates and depending on numbers drop them by June.
That's exactly what's happening as we type, with Saskatchewan, Alberta and Quebec announcing things opening up as the numbers go down.
And if another variant comes along, one that is more virulent than Delta or Omicron in this pandemic, then what will become of this myopic siege in Ottawa? The World is watching with a bigger audience than will be for the big game on Sunday.
Covid-19 will be guaranteed to put on another even bigger post game show.
