So, what did I learn from the last week events?

Lockdowns only reduced COVID deaths by 0.2 per cent, Johns Hopkins study finds
'We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality'
A new study out of Johns Hopkins University is claiming that worldwide pandemic lockdowns only prevented 0.2 per cent of COVID-19 deaths and were “not an effective way of reducing mortality rates during a pandemic.”
“We find no evidence that lockdowns, school closures, border closures, and limiting gatherings have had a noticeable effect on COVID-19 mortality,” reads the paper , which is based on a review of 34 pre-existing COVID-19 studies.
Given the “devastating effects” that lockdowns have caused, the authors recommended they be “rejected out of hand as a pandemic policy instrument.”

In both Europe and the United States, researchers found that a lockdown could only be expected to bring down mortality rates by 0.2 per cent “as compared to a COVID-19 policy based solely on recommendations.” For context, 0.2 per cent of total Canadian COVID-19 fatalities thus far is equal to about 70 people.

The impact of border closures was found to be even less effective, with death rates only going down about 0.1 per cent.
The obvious conclusion (one of them) is that a targeted approach to fighting the virus should have been the obvious solution.

Not relevant?

Its the entire point.
Its about people who don't believe in public good, who won't take an incredibly tiny risk to help out everyone else in their community keep this pandemic under control.

You can choose to be a selfish prick on the issue, just be aware that's how it looks.
Well if you live in Toronto, come out tmrw, and see what this is all about. It is anything but selfish.

There is no keeping this pandemic under control, they tried, failed , and are unable to bend and adapt to the new reality.

If you had any common sense you would have realised this on your own..
We all did our part, got vaxed , wore masks, obeyed ridicilous rules, like you can go to a restaurant with a perfect stranger, but kids have to wear masks while sitting in class, and still everyone got sick, when is it that you draw a line and say enough is enough?

Sure, this wave spread everywhere but because most of us are now vaccinated and with boosters hardly any ended up in the ICU.
That was filled mostly with anti-vaxxers.

The wave is almost done, things will open up regardless of this stupid protest.
You really think that Trudeau would listen to the yellow vest crowds and cede to their demand he resign?

If you had paid attention, there have been large rallies on monthly basis, ever since the election, and as somone working in the medical field, this covid BS has been blown out of proportion, it is a very nasty dissease, and a ahity way to die, but if you are under 70 and healthy..... also iur hospitals have been mostly empty , and more ppl have died due to the lockdowns and lack of surgeries

You claim to be in the medical field, back the anti vaxxers and have no idea that we're almost at the end of this wave?

The US, which had fewer restrictions and more anti vaxxers, has 63% more death.

So please put that on your billboard, you want more death and more freedom to die of covid.
