Each variant seems to have it’s own distinct personality, apparently Omicron seems to be able to evade the current vaccines in many cases, is associated with less mortality, is the most contagious variant to date and is clogging up the ICU. Other variants resulting in more ICU deaths thus freeing up hospital beds.
