So, we're at the point where we are determining gender by (self)proclamation...and a great part of the lefties are going with it. Nothing like trusting the science, eh? ROTFLMFAO!!
Who is the “we” you are speaking of?

Are you suggesting we get gender panels to make those determinations? Maybe chaired fundamentalist Christian Pastors and Imams?

I would expect someone with body dysmorphia to tell us what they going through, vs us telling them. Isn’t that how it’s supposed to go?

Why have you gone the road of we don’t trust what they’re saying, and probably are just doing to cheat at sports. I am not saying I know what the correct answers are…. The NCAA is in a tough spot. It is possible this person is Trans, and also wants to compete. I personally also agree it’s not fair to other competitors the way it is now.

I don't see any method better than that.

And why we are at it, maybe we can agree on self proclamation of political position.

I heard about her win streak so I decided to watch Jeopardy. After the first 5 seconds of seeing this woman on the screen I knew something was fishy.

Ah, where have you been? Speakers are being prevented from giving talks at universities ALL THE TIME because radical groups will not tolerate them being allowed to talk. Freedom of speech is being very much jeopardized.

When the consequences of freedom of speech is that you can no longer be allowed to give a speech - and I mean PHYSICALLY prevented - then it is disingenuous to merely say, " Oh you just don't want consequences." No-one is talking about stopping criticism - well , now that I think of it, the other side - in fact, it is is precisely criticism of THEIR views that want them to shut the conversation down.

Of COURSE the consequences are the problem! By your definition there is ALWAYS freedom of speech everywhere if one is physically able to talk. So there must be freedom of speech in North Korea - its just that you have to face the consequences if you practise it, which could likely include work camps or death.

Regarding "Offended' - that is the excuse to attempt to curtail free speech.

What bigotry? Have I expressed bigotry? No, I have not.
This "even total assholes should be allowed to speak freely" argument has been going on at least since George Lincoln Rockwell and before that I wan't old enough to remember much. The assholes usually win in this country and assholes like MTG and Cruz actually thrive. Letting trans men compete with women just seems to me like Andy Kaufman, except they want to be taken seriously...

Why don’t I address your point? I did. I just didn’t play your game.

Asking someone a question you already know the answer to, presumably to go “see! I told you I was right!” is a tactic. Besides, I already said I believe in free speech. You building straw men to attack is really not worth perusing.

All that being said…. Yes. People have been cancelled from speaking at universities. And I don’t agree with it. Most liberals don’t agree with it.

Now, can you answer this for me… has an athlete ever been cancelled or ridiculed for what he protested? Has a professional sports league ever fired or banned a player for protesting? Have people boycotted products those athletes were sponsored by?

Also…. Can you show me any examples of yourself defending Capernik or James on this board for their right to free speech? I’ll wait.

And did I say you Specifically were a bigot? No. I don’t know you. I don’t presume to know you. However, based on the law of averages, there are some on the board.

My thoughts on bigotry…. It exists on both sides of the aisle, in different forms. One party seems to attract more of them. Many many more. Much louder and crazier ones. That does mean every person in that party is a bigot. Far from it. For political reasons, many stay silent and do not call out the bigotry. Some even go to great lengths to paint the bigotry in a different light. You could that in it if itself is a form of bigotry…. But in my view it’s not. I look for actual malice. Does McCarthy defend Trump because of malice, or is the motivation political posturing. 2 different things. Both bad.
OK, so your rhetorical questions are overflowing yourself.

Just make the point you want to make concerning professional sports leagues. I don't know the answer to that, nor do I know the answer to the same question regarding the Ontario Librarians society, teh accounting society, the plumbers union, nor the Northern Birdwatching society. Nor do |I have a clue what the two individuals on TERB that you alluded to have said. I don't have to know any of this, just make your point.

Also - YOU brought up bigotry as follows:

"What I suspect you really mean is, ....... (that is how you started the paragraph. You were responding to ME, therefore the YOU refers to me.)

" I just have the ability to see “objective reality”, and a person using “freedoms” to mask bigotry. "

--- OK, so are you telling me that without saying who, you SUDDENLY are no longer talking to me but some other person?

HMMMMM, yes, looks like you were talking about me.

And when you say you suspect something, please explain WHY you suspect that.

Figures, the only one that can beat him is another trans.

Penn's Lia Thomas wins two races at tri-meet, loses 100-meter freestyle to transgender Yale swimmer

University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer Lia Thomas won the 200-meter and 500-meter freestyle and finished in fifth place in the 100-meter freestyle during the school’s tri-meet with Yale and Dartmouth.

Thomas finished about two seconds ahead of her opponents with a time of 1:48.73 in the 200 freestyle. She missed out on setting an NCAA record held by Olympian Missy Franklin, who finished the event in 1:39.10 in 2015. Thomas wasn’t as dominant as she was at the Zippy Invitational at Akron last month.

Thomas narrowly won the 500 freestyle, according to The Daily Mail.

She faced a real challenge in the 100 freestyle from Yale’s Iszac Henig, who is transitioning from female to male. Henig had a time of 49.57 seconds with Thomas finishing behind him with a time of 52.84 seconds.

Henig, who is from California and has been competing for Yale since 2018, stunned the limited spectators at the race.

"I wasn't prepared for that. Everything is messed up. I can't wrap my head around this. The NCAA needs to do something about this. They need to put science into the decision and discussion," one Penn parent told The Daily Mail.

Henig has had his breasts removed but wrote in a New York Times column in June he was not taking hormones just yet because he wanted to compete in the pool.

"As a student-athlete, coming out as a trans guy put me in a weird position. I could start hormones to align more with myself, or wait, transition socially and keep competing on a women's swim team. I decided on the latter," Henig wrote.

"I value my contributions to the team and recognize that my boyhood doesn't hinge on whether there's more or less testosterone running through my veins. At least, that's what I'll try to remember when I put on the women's swimsuit for the competition and am reminded of a self I no longer feel attached to."

Henig’s specialty in the pool is freestyle and butterfly.

Thomas’ blazing pace in the pool drew scrutiny from those questioning whether transgender women should compete against biological males. Thomas received support from the Ivy League and Penn earlier in the week.

"Over the past several years, Lia and the University of Pennsylvania worked with the NCAA to follow all of the appropriate protocols in order to comply with the NCAA policy on transgender athlete participation and compete on the Penn women’s swimming and diving team. The Ivy League has adopted and applies the same NCAA policy," the conference said in a statement Thursday.

"The Ivy League reaffirms its unwavering commitment to providing an inclusive environment for all student-athletes while condemning transphobia and discrimination in any form.

"The league welcomes her participation in the sport of women’s swimming and diving and looks forward to celebrating the success of all of our student-athletes throughout the season."

Who are the "lefties", JC?

Government forms, including court forms now have boxes that you check off as your chosen gender, incl "other". The courts are giving out mandatory educationals to the Bar on "trans gender issues". It's not the "lefties", it's Society and the Government.

You've been left behind in 1992, JC. The rest of Society moved on without you.

I think I can see the future of women's sport. Trans will win most of the competitions.

It will be trans competing against other trans for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in women's sport. Great to see progress, isn't it.

Look in a mirror.
You missed the point. The policies that you and your buddies object to are now mainstream government policies. They are not the whims and foibles of a capricious sect. They are the core beliefs of society.

What next?.... Are you going to demand that shopkeepers be jailed for opening their stores on Sunday in breach of The Lord's Day Act?... How about demanding that the courts stop granting those new-fangled, immoral things called "divorces"?! Or demanding that gays be flogged and jailed for life for buggery?! Or that men be legally required to wear periwigs and pay a tax of 1 shilling on each peruke?

That's about how silly you guys are.
