YERUSHALAYIM-
Health Ministry Director-General Profesor Nachman Ash said on Sunday that Israelis will have to get a fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine sometime in the future as antibody levels lapse.
“It’s probably a matter of time, and the question is how long. If [protection] lasts for a year, we’d be delighted… In any case, it probably will not last many years, even the booster shot, and we will have to keep getting vaccinated from time to time. I hope it will be a year or more,” Ash told a press briefing.
The ministry reported Motzoei Shabbos that Israel’s coronavirus R-value — which indicates how many people on average a single virus carrier infects — has topped 1 for the first time in months.
The virus’s reproduction number, or R-rate, has reached 1.02, indicating that the pandemic may be making a comeback in Israel after weeks of steady decline.
Prof. Ash further said that the country may have to reintroduce some of the health measures that were recently lifted against the backdrop of the alarming resurgence of coronavirus cases. However, he noted that there was no reason to panic.
Israel became the first country in the world to offer its citizens a third COVID-19 dose, or booster shot, back in August after it experienced a record coronavirus outbreak despite boasting one the world’s highest vaccination rates at the time.

I'm sure people during the Spanish Flu era were saying the same thing. IT NEVER ENDS!

I don't see this as a big deal. The vast majority of people who get the vaccine will be happy to get a booster knowing it will help protect them. The only thing I'm wondering is if people will require the booster to be considered fully vaxxed and gain entrance to places that require proof of vaccination.

You’re almost definitely right.

I feel like anyone educated enough to write at that time would probably be familiar with Smallpox, the Black Death or maybe even classical epidemics if they were formally educated or curious.

Within a couple years of the War, almost all in Canada would have become familiar with the idea and staying power of ‘temporary measures’ on a personal level, having seen them come and go.

On the subject of misinformation, conspiracy theories, fear mongering and the like:

Part of me is glad that society has made space to accommodate kooks since then.

But, most of me is just disappointed that the best we are willing to do to solve this particular aspect of the pandemic is to continue to tolerate the harm they cause.

I don't think that standing up to the virus is effective.

It will end when enough people get fully vaxxed and the virus has trouble finding a host for itself.

Go Jabs Go.
Yeah, part of the issue with the vaccine (besides it appears to lose efficacy after awhile) is that the longer the virus has an opportunity to mutate, it could eventually bypass the vaccine entirely. We need to get nearly everyone the shot, making it significantly harder to find hosts. Now that the kids are eligible, I hope we can get to over 90% rate in a few months.

And, from what I've heard, there is a lot of demand for the kids to get the shot, which is good. I know there are some hesitant parents who want to wait and see for a bit, but I don't anticipate any crazy things to happen. Sure, there will be a few bad reactions, which happens every year with other vaccines. But the good outweighs the bad in this case by a large margin.

Thankfully mRNA vaccines are very easy to modify to match the changing spike protein.

Yes, Ireland is leading the vaccination rate in the EU. I wonder of it's a coincidence that they also have the lowest death rate.
and they are going back into lockdown

Ireland imposes lockdown and curfew for a population that is 93% vaccinated – Dr. Eddy Bettermann MD | AGR Daily News

Gibraltar has cancelled official Christmas celebrations after it saw a spike in COVID cases.

Despite being one of the most heavily vaccinated parts of the world, the government announced there would be no official parties, receptions and similar gatherings due to a rise in infections.

“Gibraltar, a small British territory on the southern tip of Spain with a population of around 33,000, has seen 212 new coronavirus cases since Monday, with a total of 564 active cases.

Officials said the public should “exercise their own judgment” when deciding to hold Christmas functions but added it “strongly advises against” having them in the next four weeks, while the vaccine booster programme is rolled out.

The government said in a statement: “Given the exponential rise in the number of cases, the government, for example, intends to cancel a number of its own functions including official Christmas parties, official receptions and similar gatherings.”

AGR News: “Quaker Inspired, Evidence Based, Art And Science Of Sustainable Health Plus Success – How To Create Heaven On Earth – Education For Seventh Generation Rainbow Warriors.”

Article is by someone calling themselves Dr Eddy Bettermann, who “specializes in preventing and reversing disease through nutritional and natural methods.” His Twitter seems to be mostly about hocking his supplements and anti-alcaline water dispensers that will fix your ‘toxic tap water.’

Seems like a guy trying to grift easy marks in the footsteps of Mike Adams-types.

The “lockdown” he’s upset about is the one imposed last week where bars, nightclubs and restaurants have to close at midnight, and people are being asked to work from home.

Your boy writes like a twat. I can see why you’d mistake his schilly BS for information.

“Arrogant and drunk with power, the government of Ireland insists on using more lockdowns to deprive people of their civil liberties. Even with vaccine passports firmly in place, Ireland has seen a 275 percent uptick in covid cases. As this abusive medical experiment fails the population, Ireland joins other heavily vaccinated countries like Israel and Great Britain, in a cycle of shame and treachery. Instead of repenting and turning from their ways, these nations resort to more tyranny, locking people down further, restricting the rights of the unvaccinated and inoculating people with deadly, heart-inflaming shots.”

You’d think encouraging people to break laws or bylaws or policies would have repercussions.

He’s truly the hero the tin-foil hat parade participants deserve.

Easy. Neither of those places are completely locked down with sealed borders. So, when someone in Gibraltar goes into Spain, they could be exposed to the virus, which they bring back. Delta is spread fairly easily, and is the leading cause of break through infections. On top of that, other mutations/variants will likely pop up.

I would be more interested in the number of hospitalizations. The sad reality is that COVID might be like the flu. It will kill a certain number of people every year, but for young, healthy vaccinated people, it will just be a bad sickness that they will fully recover from. The unvaccinated, however, might die or face physical disabilities.

Look, you're obviously riding the Chris Sky train. If you don't want to get vaccinated, that is completely your choice. He did, but is a defiant little prick. But just remember, if you get Covid, you have a significantly greater chance of getting a severe infection compared to a vaxxed person who gets the breakthrough case. Just look at threads on Reddit. Nurses are sick of dealing with the crowd that thinks the virus isn't a big deal, only for them to get sick, wind up on a ventilator and die. There is a shocking number of children being made orphans because of this mindset. They fucked around and found out.

Now, if you aren't vaccinated, I hope you stay safe and healthy. I know some people who caught it before the vaccine, and while they were not sick enough to need hospitalization, they said it was the worst they ever felt (and one went through chemotherapy). This is a disease where we have some protections, treatments and safe vaccine.

All of this is 👍👍👍.

The absurdity of a daily reality where the “I did my own research” crowd is a significant portion of your headache at work makes my head spin.

83% of people in the ICU today are unvaccinated, a group that makes up 22% of Ontario’s population.

That 22%, includes kids aged 5-11 and will without a doubt continue to decline.
