The standard of proof in Illinois for Self-Defence is not that hard to prove.
His conviction was always a long shot.
The prosecution could have crafted different charges that might have better stuck, but not likely.
There is not a lick of evidence that Rittenhouse was or is a white-supremicist. Stupid white kid, lacking in the training or maturity to be in that situation, definitely.
That is not to say that white privilege and/or that white-supremicists contributed to his defence fund and supported him.

He would have been found guilty in Canada, but then again, he would have never been here in the situation in the first place. Our laws and landscape differ. We just don't act or think as they do.

Par for the course for the shit-hole known as the United States of America.

You can’t have equality without some type of a universal system or law or governance structure that is biased free and always protects the best interest of the people. Right now the idea of communism is used to lure people and use them for a political purpose. Kind of like how the Roman Catholics used god, faith and spirituality to control and manipulate the people and keep chasing that impossible carrot or promised heaven with the bearded dude sitting in the clouds smoking splifs.

while I agree communism is our ultimate evolution as a species we are far from this. First we need to solve the energy, health, environmental, equality and ideological threats and issues. Probably your best bet is through technology and AI, however some people will never want to give up control, power and their ideology that they believe defines them.
