Of course you are confusing human trafficking for human smuggling. It's easy to make this mistake since the words could be used interchangeably in normal conversation but they are carrying different meanings as per the police and the law.
Trafficking is essentially forced labor, if you are a construction company and you employ people to work for you using duress or coercion, you are a trafficker.
These people could be undocumented workers, but you don't have to be the person who brought these people into the country to be charged with trafficking.
The person bringing them into the country would be a smuggler.

Okay, I'm a little late to the party and I viewed the different perspectives with interest. The one response which is a real head-scratcher for me is this response above.
Why are you on TERB ?? You are on a web site that the prime theme is the the review / promotion of girls performing different levels of erotic fantasy for strangers in exchange for money. The hypocrisy is absolutely stunning.
As far as your totally illogical conclusion goes, prostitution has been illegal in Canada since 2014 so not only is your conclusion moot, if your theory is correct then this story couldn't happen.
Sex is not dirty, it is the result of a biological urge baked in our genes to propagate the species. If it didn't exist in you, I doubt you would be on this site. Why the 'moral' society chooses to try to repress a natural instinct (imho - one of the best gifts of life) is as crazy as follows of Q-anon. The freedom of an adult to have sex in exchange for companionship, a rich life style, cash, cars - whatever - is none of anyone's business.
Drinking is a far less necessary need but just look at the effect when prohibition was introduced into the US. The suggestion that prohibition doesn't promote illegal activity should be put to bed forever.
Legalization would assist in allowing regulations and remove fear of reprisals from those seeking assistance.
I would not blanket all Asian service suppliers as 'obviously' trafficked. They should have the same rights as every SP without the racial profiling.
My suggestion is to look at the source - how did they get in here ? I doubt if they all landed in rubber rafts. Who sponsored them (cannot have criminal record) ? If they were issued work permits, there should be a mandatory interview after 30 days where they must have their passport, a paystub (proof of wages) and a short interview about the job itself. Any problems, you go after the sponsor.
If you are a client walking into a publicly advertised business, located in a public setting with open access to the public - it is more than reasonable that you are not involved in a place with human trafficking. My problem if the place is shady would be with the police, immigration, and social services that could allow it to happen right under their nose.

On the other hand if you wanted to advise newbies on how it feels to support known traffickers, or what kind of emotions to feel after finding out that you had sex with an underage girl because a seemingly "reputable" "white agency" was trafficking underage girls (Entourage) then you sure have my support. You would be speaking from experience then, rather than speculation.
So, let's not get into any more "smart nonsense."
I don't want to get into it here, start a thread to discuss screening and EMTs and invite me if you want to really write an article with all your supporting evidence. Should be okay. But good to use a burner phone always as an insurance policy which is what I do. Paid in cash at Seven Eleven and no trail back to you.
So you are against prostitution but prefer locations in which prostitution is carried on undercover. Might I remind you that if prostitution was legal, it would not be illegal to visit a brothel either.
I've never used an SP (agency or indie), but I check out the ads. Whenever I look at the Asian places, the girls seem to work 12 hour days 7 days a week. Now, I'm pretty sure they aren't with clients during all those times, but it always made me think that some of them must be trafficked. Who would willingly take on a schedule like that? I know that the story is they want to make as much cash as possible for the short time they are here, but I would imagine they need days off to rest and recover...
Many that I have known took 8 to 10 days off per month. Others took much more time off each month. And you are correct, many want to make as much money as quickly as possible. And lastly, from what I know snd have been told by many, working here was their choice as they could make a lot of money. Their motivation to work in the business is not much different than other women, especially when they are older (over 30) whereas many of the women at other non Asian agencies are between 19 and 22.
Since you know so many of these girls with great working conditions and are here of their own free will, you will make a great defense witness. Please contact attorneys for the accused and volunteer your services.
