Sergachev intentionally drove his shoulder into Marner's jaw.
I watched the replay a couple of times and it was clear to me that the “main point of contact” was shoulder on jaw, as such it’s suspendible and he was. Only Sergachev knows if it was intentional but he did apologize to Marner afterwards.

I think Serg wanted to made a big hit, not thinking to hit him in the head. However, all hits to the head are illegal, intentional or not.

Nick Ritchie looks like a huge miss. They got him hoping he can play 1st line but he clearly is not even the best player on the 4th line. I suppose they'll need his size if they make the playoffs but he'll have to get there faster if he wants to hit anything. If Mason Marchment can play for the high flying Panthers certainly he should be able to play 4th line for Leafs at much cheaper.

Ritchie 23 hits in 11 games 1 assist
Marchment 22 hits in 8 games 6 pts
Both LW

not always sure...

The point is that penalties for targeted hits to the head need to have some rationale or consistency.
Currently it appears the arbitrary suspensions vs fines have entirely to do with how much George Parros had to drink that night. Or maybe which teams show up with larger bags of money... not sure.

When the New York Rangers publicly called George Parros "unfit for his position" last May they were fined $250,000.
It's a shame the Rangers didn't try to induce a brain injury, the fine might have only been $3000.

The NHL is never consistent, don't expect it. The officiating in the playoffs are a different rule book from the regular season. McDavid will get 140 pts in the regular season but in the playoffs the Refs will let the players clutch and grab McDavid to the ice without a call.

Just remember that Don Cherry shit on Leafs for passing on him and drafting Nylander instead. Nik Elhers was taken by the Jets one spot ahead of Ritchie. I'd say they both made the right move in that draft.

Kyle Dumbass wants only eclairs on the Loafs, doesn't surprise me that he traded Marchment. He was the Marlies most effective player when they won the AHL title.

Kyle Dumbass deserves the Nobel Prize.

I was pissed off at him then and I'm still pissed off at him now for drafting his boy from the Soo D Travis Dermott over D Brandon Carlo in the 2nd round of the 2015 draft.

Another great win - man JC36 might just be the real deal. The next coming of FP29 :D .

I hope you're not poking fun at Felix Potvin...for a couple of seasons Felix Potvin was an important part of a team that made it to the conference finals in back to back years...Campbell has a ways to go.

FP29 wasn't a late bloomer like JC36. He took us to the conference finals his first 2 season in the league
I don't get why Campbell isn't getting the respect in here.
He hasn't had a chance to blossom because he's been a back up to two premier goaltenders.
His SV% is better than Potvin's while Potvin played behind a better over all team with a very solid 1 through 6 defence,
one of the best D corps they ever had. He didn't do much after those two seasons.

Johnny Bower didn't make it til his 30s, you want to compare Potvin to Bower?

You're judging Campbell on a handful of games. He's been in the league for 8 years now and hasn't even played 100 regular season games in his career yet. I was never disrespecting him I was just pointing out the fact that Potvin became a top 5 goalie right away and by the way Potvin beat out the starter Grant Furh who is also a 4 time champion and hall of famer so he had competition too.

Dart thinks Tavares, Marner, Nylander, Matthews are 3 forwards.
Tavares +3
Marner +4
Nylander +1
Matthews even
Each is not negative so how can them combined by -3

Dart again exposes his lack of ...
Did McD who scored 105 pts last season a plus player each and every game he played.
Combined -3 for a line is 1 goal against. Talk about hyperbole
