Am in the middle of the second episode, but man this is really entertaining. Lots of humor, suspense, and emotional drama. Hope the whole series is as good as the beginning. Anyone else watching it?
Well, as long as the main idea is conveyed, I don't think it affects my enjoyment since I don't know any Korean.word on the street is that the subs or dubbing may not be what is in the actual script due to poor translation.
just heard it from a coworker. apparently the story is different then what has been translated.
I thoroughly enjoyed it though.
I can't stand watching movies with dubbed in English audio. Much prefer subtitles, even though they divert my attention from the video. That said, if I happen to have some knowledge of both languages involved, I'm sometimes amazed by how poor the subtitle translations are.Well, as long as the main idea is conveyed, I don't think it affects my enjoyment since I don't know any Korean.
I just listened to it with English audio, and it completely unwatchable, the voice actors are HORRENDOUS, I mean they're not usually good, but it's complete garbage. Am watching in original Korean with English captions.

Yeah, the ending (last episode) ruined it for me. Up until then, I was staying up late binge-watching.Its good.
(The end isn't quite as strong as I would like, but that is probably because they wanted to leave room for Season 2.)
Subtitle translation is incredibly hard because people read far slower than people on screen speak.I can't stand watching movies with dubbed in English audio. I keep hearing about this show so now I feel obligated to watch it.
Unrealistic and for that matter strange accents coming from white people? It wouldn't be a Kdrama if they didn't do that. They should of had a westerner write the lines for the fat boorish white guys, it came across as unrealistic.
As far as the tempered/un-tempered glass bridge goes, the first guy should have made one attempt, then, if alive, he should of just stood there, making the others each take a turn, otherwise it is just a death sentence.
What you are saying makes sense but I don't see it as being the problemSubtitle translation is incredibly hard because people read far slower than people on screen speak.
You are always limited by what is a reasonable time to keep the lines on the screen so you have to make translation choices with that in mind.
This often means sacrificing a direct translation to get the idea across in a shorter line.
It's fan subs. Not surprised a bunch are garbage. Some of those fan subs, double plus so in the Cdrama world are complete garbage.
The dialogue of the boorish white guys nearly ruined it for me.I loved the body-painted leopard woman used as a furniture prop, holy crap those were sensational boobs.
If anyone can get an image of that - and who is she? - I would love to see it.
As far as the series, well it was mildly entertaining, but totally ridiculous of course.

Sorry, if I felt the glass breaking under me I would grab the frame of the structure.
