Great pressure win for the boys in Pinstripes tonight.

Montoyo left Ray in too long and it cost them.........

Didn't like Vladdy's celebration when he smashed that double off the top of the wall.......I noticed he wasn't nearly so gleeful when he dropped that pop up in the ninth, lol.

Yankees off to finish the year off against the Rays now in a three game set. I'm hoping the Rays rest a lot of their regulars. But they're so deep it probably won't matter.

Even though I despise the Yankees, after they swept the Red Sox and took 2 out of 3 against us, they deserve to be in the playoffs now

They have all these analytics why would you leave RR38 in to see the lineup a 3rd time, I get he was pitching well at that point, but data say it all, he is garbage when the batters see him a 3rd time. I just don't get. A sweep is needed now - but that's a tall order. Def. a finish for the ages.

Eye test-anyone can see that Ray wasn't on his game, I would have pulled him after 5 innings.

If there is a 3 way tie , how does tie-breaker work between the 3 teams?

Robbie Ray is your best pitcher. You don't replace him at the start of the 6th inning with a middle reliever. Just give credit to the Yankees for beating our best pitcher. Give an assist to not starving Marvin behind home plate. He put Ray in the hole against Rizzo.

Here
It looks like in one half inning he blew his Cy Young probabilities... 😞
CORRECTION: Ray's ERA only rose to 2.84... I forgot about Cole's disaster the day before that left his ERA at 3.23...

I agree with this.
Had Pearson given up those dingers everyone would say why didnt you leave your Cy Young pitcher in?!

Anywho, we're still in this. Only 1 game off BoSox WC spot.
I'm not saying I'd bet money on it, but I havent heard that fat lady sing yet

Interesting fact: If the Jays win their last 2 games they will tie the 1991 Blue Jay team for the 6th best record in franchise history.

We still have an outside chance. All we can control is our next two games against the O's. No room for error. Then hope the baseball gods are on our side.
Regardless of how it ends up I am very proud of the way this team played. Totally exceeded my expectations. Manoah is a revelation. Bichette has made incredible strides with his defensive play. 4 hitters with over 100 RBI, wow. Now to work on shoring up the bullpen in the offseason along with re signing Semien and Ray.

I hope Boston and Seattle lose and we get in. But I have concerns about Vlad's complete lack of hitting for the last 2 weeks. Semien and Teo have also cooled off. Gurriel is still in pain. And the pitching staff is giving up big innings.

This isn't the team that ruled the AL in early September. I hope they can right the ship.

If it weren't for those blown saves earlier in season courtesy Dolis, Chatwood, Mr. Hand....they would have at least the 1st WC locked up.

Hope Biggio can keep up with what he did last night in the final 2 games.
Espinal-what a player , he should be the everyday 3rd baseman.

Come on Angels and Nats!!!!!!

Can you imagine if the Rays sweep the Yanks??
