I was talking to many people, I've realized that some condos have somewhat laxer policies. However, others seem to be just as bad as the one I was staying in. Where people have tons of rules, it appears that two types of people live/use condos.
Wealthy people who don't live there and rent it to someone else: These landowners prefer to sign a one-year or two-year lease. They see the property primarily as a financial investment; hence they like to have all security cams, strict guest policies, pool policies, and constant remodeling of their property. For instance, they want to upgrade the kitchen to make more money. Even things that work and do not need any remodeling.
Conservative folks who live there: They have a "This is our property" mindset. Even the younger couple's with no children. Hence, they want security cams, strict guest policies, and no renters. They strongly wish for a "peace and quiet" environment. Another thing I've noticed is that they tend to see other residents as their rivals/competitors and not necessarily their friends. For instance, "the neighbors can't remodel their property since it infringes on my property." or "they broke X rule, I'll report them." If you see how they treat their neighbors, you can imagine what they think of renters or others, hint they don't like them.
Conclusions: I talked to someone online, and he told me that he avoids living on buildings with "front desk" security since those can bring long-term residents who tend to be more territorial. I must admit that some of the best accommodations experiences have been around renters or those who didn't own anything. For instance, staying at an "apartment building" where the company owns everything and then everyone there is only there temporarily, like less than six months. It does change the culture.
But I wanted to hear from you guys?
