Interesting view. So in your opinion, black and indigenous people statistically make less money and are incarcerated at a far higher rate because they're really unlucky or really stupid?
Money is power. China and India are generating massive wealth and turning up billionaires every other day.
I really don't want to insult anyone here, but I hope that your children (if you have any) will educate you. You should watch an entertaining movie called "the white tiger' on netflix.
I should really not take the bait to engage in this but there is just so much wrong with your entire post and the subsequent posts. A white person, specially a white man, has enjoyed generations of privilege that have desensitized you about the living conditions of people of color to the point where what you feel is "survival of the fittest," or "tough love," does not apply. It is laughable because you are forgetting about generations of wealth and privilege were built on stealing, raping and pillaging "inferior" or "uncivilized" people. Lest not forget some of you may even be decedents of slave owners and traffickers being that the slave trade is what made England into the greatest empire on earth at some point. There is no "survival of the fittest," when you started the contest with a massive head start and your competition had an unfair handicap. Brother please, it's not my desire to educate you and I really hope you don't take offense to my post, you can watch some videos about privilege.

Giving the word power like that just perpetuates said power. Just think about it: in modern day you can call someone an asshole or motherfucker, and it's forgotten tomorrow. Call someone the N-word and you're the devil incarnate. A lot of power in that word, and it's not lessening.

It’s certainly not because the rest of society doesn’t give them enough support. My suspicion is that the groups you mentioned have the problems you mentioned because there is a severe lack of role models. I would posit that this problem is further exacerbated by the propensity within those cultures to deride anyone attempting to improve themselves as being too white. It really should come as no surprise to anyone that a group of children born to absentee fathers and exposed to a culture which extols lawlessness grow up to be recidivists.
Do you accept that poverty limits opportunity meaning it is much harder person raised in a poor home than one in a more wealthy one? If you do then you need to accept that past generations significantly impact the present. With the States in particular, that can trace back to slavery, Jim Crow laws, and the ghettoization in northern industrial centres as former slaves looked for work all have a lasting impact on the black community without even having to discuss modern racism.
And add in that racism is still a thing. It's not at the level it was 50 or 100 years ago but is still there. Even for those who aren't consciously racist, it is human instinct to surround yourself with people like you and since the power players in Canada are predominantly white, it has an impact.
p.s. The no-father trope is a weak excuse, especially in Canada. Indigenous people in Canada are incarcerated at a much higher rate than anyone else; are you going to say they don't have role models or fathers?

Brother, I cannot disagree with you at all. After all, as Winston Churchhill said: "history belongs to the victors." What this means for minorities or POC is that their histories are erased, and their heroes are now losers. It's pretty hard to remember the losers in any contest, and how can you call them role models. No kid wants to make a person who almost won their hero. Also no classroom will teach you about the empires that almost happened, or the conquerors that almost conquered. Rewriting history is one of the ways that whites have remained the dominant power but also one of the ways in which POC are made to bow down and conform to the powers that be. After all they grow up learning that not only their ancestors got their asses murdered, raped, and pillaged by white men, but in history class they are made to idolize and learn about these characters as historical heroes.
Something as small as having a black, latino, Asian or whatever hero makes a huge difference in the identity of children, look at Marvel comics now introducing a black Captain America for example.
Do you know any black heroes? Without using google, do you know who Frederick Douglass is?
