I can completely understanding booing if those players take the knee during the anthem, but from my understanding that's not when they knelt.

Boris is sneaky and does whatever he thinks will get him votes. The reason he supported the Black team members this time is because of the level of outrage.
I don't take a knee when they're playing the national anthem, but I always try to make sure that I'm squatting, pushing out my business while sitting on the toilet seat when they are.
How about all the Black soldiers in the then British Empire who died in World War One or World War Two?
You assume that everyone who died for that national anthem was white and would be pissed off that the players were kneeling.

Just displaying your lack of knowledge of what occurred. This had NOTHING TO DO WITH THE NATIONAL ANTHEMS. It was done in support of the racial abuses, discriminations and "there is no room for racism"!! It was a 10 or 20 second silence when taking the knee prior to kick off. The only ones booing were the usual tiny minority of violent racist fans. Something that you approve and adore. We all know your true colours. You are hilarious when you throw the National Anthem as all the players stood in silence to respect it, except of course the racist fans from the opposing side that mocked and booed the national anthems!!

In actual fact, those killed in the World Wars came from a variety of races and a variety of political beliefs and somehow connecting them to the anthem is an artificial exercise of projecting current right wing media obsessions onto historical people who were completely unaware of them.
