Apparently he had a long standing previous obligation that conflicted with those broadcast times.
Ron MacLean said he would be back on air for the Cup finals.
I am no longer a fan of MacLean ever since he threw Cherry under the bus. If their time together was a couple of years, who gives a shit. But after a couple of decades? Anyone who does that to a partner is an asshole.
Mind you I was not a big fan of him before that as he is/was too wishy-washy.
I struggle to remember what gender pronoun to use with Ron. He is typical virtue signalling CBC leftist stooge.
NHIC needs to continue to replace the old guard with more women, like Casey Campbell and Jen Botterill.

PJ Stock is often with the french RDS team. Although he as quick a thick English accent he is so refreshing. He's amazing.

The day before I saw Phil Kessel who was having lunch with an older women. My oldest son was playing in a hockey tournament that day so I had to go over to Phil for an autograph. Phil was very friendly and didn’t mind at all. My son was thrilled with the autograph but my youngest son burst into tears since he didn’t have one.
The following evening I’m having after work drinks at Earls in Toronto and I see Colby. I go over and ask him for a moment and tell him about the Phil kessel autograph. Colby asks the server for some paper and signs one for my youngest. Both Dudes.
McLean needs to go like 10 years ago.. They had him gone and then brought hi back. Send him to the Bob Cole retirement village. BTW, HNIC needs a complete rethink. Completely boring. ANd while I'm at it, Craig Simpson...zzzzzz... get rid of him.
Gonna get roasted here but for me Jen Botterill brings only pedigree to the table. Maybe she’s been there and done that but that’s where it ends. Evidences a lack of insight, nothing original, top drawer analysis, seems to be getting coached in her commentary. You just see the contempt in the eyes of the other analysts.

You also need to look at some of the stale production staff who have been doing the same stale stuff - guys like Sherali Najak and Brian Spear. I never thought I would say Ron MacLean is done, but he is. I was not a fan of replacing Ron for George Stroumboulopoulos, but HNIC needs to do an extensive search for better talent. Maybe Kevin Bieksa is an answer. I like Elliotte Friedman a lot too.
Cassie has more insight than most of the men.
I find Jen sexy as hell, not pretty really, but has that big farm girl look kind of appeal.
