As mention in another thread, I like to go fishing. I find it relaxing and there is nothing really like fighting a fish at the end of your line. There is an excited about having a fish on.

I mainly fish for bass as that is the easiest on my kayak. I plan on getting a new muskie rod. My neighbour at my trailer as a boat so we go out often and I use his but I need to grab my own. Anyone got suggestions, I am open to feedback.

I fish the Kawartha's, I know that is vague, but I don't need you horny bastards coming up to my lake looking for the chick fishing in a kayak and a bikini since I am the only one you will find. LOL
Don't sell yourself short, it could become a thing with thousands of bikini clad kayakers out fishing. You could maybe get a sponsorship from the outfit supplying kayaks to all the horney bastards and you could afford to go deep-sea fishing in Cancun...

So caught the first muskie of the season on Sunday. Nice 2 ft long. Watched it grab the stupid wacky worm right at the boat. I was reeling in to recast and he just grabbed and dove. Was a nice first catch.

Now I know I know. Pics. But I was with family and we posted all our catches to FB. Which is my personal account so sorry. You will all have to take my word for it. LOL

Anyone else been on the lakes yet?

Also there is a big tri-lake fishing tournament happening July 10th. Televised. Huge amount if prizes. If you want info, PM me.

I'm sure your personal FB account doesn't show enough cleavage to interest most Terbites. As for the fishing tourney, I'm required to dip my worm on this side of the border for now...

Any Maiden fans in the house?

Last concert I was at, at the Budweiser Stage, before the show, there was an old guy fishing in the stream. Made me wonder how a guy got past the gates to the beer and pizza section with fishing gear, not looking like he was there to see a concert... I asked if he was catching anything... he said not yet, but had zero interest in a conversation... wished him luck, but I knew.

Not that I am aware of. My boat. No where around anyone. How is not following protocols?
No such law. I've been fishing in my boat fishing with a friend since the first week of May. Seen the police ssveral times on the water and they didn't even stop me. It's usually locals saying that to keep the people from the city away. Been fishing around Bancroft/Aplsely and yes all the launches are open. Fishing been hot for Crappie and Musky.

Deion Sanders claims Bassmaster Celebrity Fishing title at Lake Lewisville

LEWISVILLE, Texas — When the Bassmaster Classic, the Super Bowl of fishing, hits the water this weekend, Lake Ray Roberts will be filled with the best fishermen in the world.
And Deion Sanders isn’t one of them.
The former Dallas Cowboy was just one of the big names competing at Wednesday’s Bassmaster Celebrity Fishing Tournament on Lake Lewisville ahead of Friday’s main event.

Sanders was joined by another former Cowboy Marcus Spears, basketball of famer Sheryl Swoopes, country singer Jimmie Allen and country duo Maddie and Tae.
Even though Sanders didn’t do interviews, he had plenty to say to Swoopes.

“Look at her nails,” Sanders yelled as he pointed to Swoopes’ freshly manicured hands. “Do you think she plans on touching a fish with those nails?”
Forget the fish. Like Sanders, before even casting a line, every celebrity angler was throwing out plenty of bait.

“When that boat hits the water with me on it, I’m planning on winning,” Spears said.
“He’s a former Cowboys’ fan, so he’s used to promising high and delivering low,” Allen joked.
Allen, who grew up ocean fishing in Delaware, doesn’t hate the Cowboys. He just wants to win.

“Somebody’s got to lose and I don’t want it to be me,” he said.
Spears says it won’t be him because he believes his time with the Cowboys gives him a distinct advantage.
“This lake right here,” he said in reference to Lake Lewisville. “I fished this lake for 14 years.”

“So when’s the last time he fished this lake,” Swoopes asked. “Cause things could be different.”
It is different.
Unlike the Bassmaster Classic, there’s no trophy or prize money. Instead, the winner will make a donation to one charity of their choice.

But if Spears wins like he says he will, he claims it will benefit two great causes: the Boys and Girls Club of Louisiana and…
“And my ego,” he said. “Yeah, my ego. I’m not ashamed of that.”
However, he will be ashamed of this: with 12 pounds, eight ounces of fish Deion Sanders caught a victory.
It wasn’t the main event, but it’s easy to believe that in Deion’s eyes it will go down as a Bassmaster Classic.

The Bassmaster Classic runs Friday through Sunday at Lake Ray Roberts.

I went to the Bassmaster classic when it was in South Carolina a few years ago. I was lucky that I got to be a Marshall during the event and during practice. It amazed me how serious thay take it down there. During the weight in there was 40k people, even kids dressing up as there favorite angler. You never see that up here lol. Be lucky if 100 people show up haha

I fucking hate arrogant assholes. I don’t know if it is a sexist thing or just a general asshole thing but I had two guys in a bass boat literally do a 180 degree turn around my boat to get a spot beside me. Now that is normally fine but they did it at such huge speeds it was ridiculous. They didn’t slow down at all. Just hit the sharp turn and on the turn cut the engine.

I don’t know if it is excitement to finally be on the water or if it was because I’m a woman in a small boat and they think I wouldn’t bitch. I don’t know. But it seemed really rude and something I don’t think they would have done had I been a 6’2 240lb man.

Jokes on them though. They were too far in for the Bass. So they caught nothing.

Also, and maybe I am just over thinking but guys always watch me when I take the boat in and out. I don’t know if they are just watching because they presume I will crash and they want to see the show. Or do guys watch everyone? This is either launching or just coming in and out of the dock.

We watch because we want to get in or out of the water lol. Some people take forever and it shouldn't take more then 5 min if your with someone and 10 if your by yourself.

A question for all you fisher persons out there. I heard recently that the best tasting freshwater fish is Pickrell.
Would you agree with that or is there another fish that you think is better tasting?

I don’t eat my fish but I have heard the same. The park manager tells us that if we catch Pickrell, to bring them in because there are some in the park that eat them all the time
