If you're getting a musky rod, get the St. Croix mojo Musky. the best rod I've had for musky. I also have a st. croix mojo bass. I kayak fish a lot mostly spend my time in Whitby harbor kayak fishing for pike or rice lake. biggest bass I pulled out of whitby harbor is a lunky 5lb but Pike I had a 15lb. 2 weeks ago out of frenchman's bay pickering.

Wow, where did you catch that?
I can’t say the lake. Sorry but I’m one of the only women who fish the lake. It would be easy to find me. LOL.

And saying the Kawartha’s Really won’t help you much. LOL.

LOL. Thanks

sweet job
excellent
bet that was a great fight
Was an awesome fight. Jumped twice in the air, wrapped the line around itself, did a half wrap around the anchor line which scared the shit out of me but it swam back and I was able to lead it around.

I thought I snagged a weed. I was bottom hoping a worm of all things. I was looking for bass and bam!

No leader, no braided line, regular rod with like 10lbt. It was either fluke or luck but I will take it! Lol

I'd say it's either Jack's lake or pigeon.....maybe stoney. Not many lakes in the kawarthas has fish that size. Clean fish too nice. Could even be Balsam. If you fish for musky a lot st croix rods legend tournaments are nice and light. It helps with the fatigue of casting big baits all day.

As mention in another thread, I like to go fishing. I find it relaxing and there is nothing really like fighting a fish at the end of your line. There is an excited about having a fish on.

I mainly fish for bass as that is the easiest on my kayak. I plan on getting a new muskie rod. My neighbour at my trailer as a boat so we go out often and I use his but I need to grab my own. Anyone got suggestions, I am open to feedback.

I fish the Kawartha's, I know that is vague, but I don't need you horny bastards coming up to my lake looking for the chick fishing in a kayak and a bikini since I am the only one you will find. LOL

So any other anglers out there? Wear do you fish, what do you like to fish for?

I wouldn't mind getting into some river fishing. Not with my yak, but of the shoreline. That is a whole different ball game though. LOL
I fish more then the normal person lol. I ice fish for crappie, perch, pike and rainbow. At ice out I fish for spring pike up in Georgain bay and crappie in haliburton. During the summer I competitively fish for bass until mid October and then pretty much for salmon and steelhead in rivers in the west GtA and georgain bay.

Pulled one out of Buckhorn in the spring, you never know where you might find one.

Fuckers, teaches them well

Two Utah fishermen plead guilty to cheating in fishing tournament after lab reveals the truth

Two Utah fishermen have pleaded guilty to cheating in a low-stakes fishing tournament, marking the end of a two-year scandal in the local fishing scene.

In October 2018, two fishermen, Robert Dennett and Kamron Wootton, participated in a fishing tournament held at Lake Powell. Whoever caught the heaviest live largemouth bass was to win $2,500.

So headed to the Ganaraska, south of the rail.

Anyone got any suggestions, tips? Haven’t been before so anything would help. ;)

Good first week of fishing!!!! I know Bass are not open yet but caught a few. Tossed them back of course. Caught some pan fish, some perch.

I’m just happy the boat worked with no issues after storing this winter.

Anyone get out for the opener in April or out this week with some trailer parks opening?

Was out at the trout opener under the 407...what a hike...got me some brookies and steelheads...in fact there are still late runners in the spot. I just don't target steelhead this late as resident browns are more fun. Lot's of bass now too but they're still close. Will go for pike this weekend..

Trying to stay in a Happy Place
Jenesis,
I won't try to guess the lake you fish on - even though I am pretty familiar with the Kawartha's.

I has the good fortune of being able to spend all of my summers until I was in my late teens at my family's cottage in the Kawartha's (won't name the lake but it is north of Burleigh Falls and is somewhat close to Apsley). I never got into fishing as I was more of a canoe tripper, sailor and water skier (and liked sleeping in past the crack of dawn) but I can understand it's attraction.

Anyways the reason for my post is to share the fishing related quote below I saw on an sp's twitter today

"Give a woman a fish, and she will eat for a day
Teach a woman to fish, and you get rid of her for the weekend"

As I imagine everyone would want to enjoy your company all weekend long that quote obviously does not apply to you.

Fishing is exercise, can be enjoyed alone with so much social distancing..if you look at the map of Durham region...there are tributaries that stretches from lake Ontario to north of 407 and they are all fishable...serenity, wild animals from foxes, deers coyotes...and of course trout fishing. I don't know if it's Turkey hunting season too..

Not that I am aware of. My boat. No where around anyone. How is not following protocols?
Because the latest lockdown is that they want us at home, going only for groceries and doctors. I don't think they'll come after you in a boat or if you're fishing off your dock, but if the ministry is around they might.

Ok So now TV news saying that gold and tennis will be open , so I can't see why not fishing.

We are allowed to go out for exercise during the stay at home order. As long as we stay in our community. Mine just happens to be a lake. Lol.
