Does Netflix have a history of stranding audiences in the middle of a series and then not carrying later episodes?
They are with Kim's, they got the first 4 Seasons before CBC Gem went online. Gem is not going to release S5 until the views decline.

Some truth, I just streamed S1 of Ozark in 3 days. There's some hope for humanity, ever since Tom Hardy wrote the book on evil homo, every show needs to have one. The gay community doesn't seem to mind as long as the character is well written.

The producers have to deal with the anger of Kim's sudden cancellation. The show's IMDB rating is now equal to Schitt's Creek. It's beginning to roll in the money for Ins Choi and Kevin Walker...most asinine move ever!

The show started out as a play written by Ins Choi which premiered in Calgary. The play was an immediate success then moved to Toronto, Paul Hyung Lee (Appa) was part of the local cast. Kevin Walker got onboard as producer turning the play into a TV series for the CBC, it became a national hit. Then Simu Liu joined Wong Fu which opened the show to the Southern California market, it became a cult hit in LA. With the support of Wong Fu, Simu Liu lobbied Marvel for an Asian Superhero. Then Netflix picked up the American rights from the CBC, it's popularity started to build. The worst possible time for Choi and Walker to cancel the show.
Before Simu, Wong Fu helped build the career of Randall Park (The Interview - Kim Jong Un, The Office, Fresh off the Boat).

I watched Fresh off the Boat but only because Constance Wu was easy on the eyes and her character was adorable in a neurotic way.
Randall and the kids were annoying as hell.
