not always sure...
that much maligned MTL 'system' you love to rag on so much seems to be working out ok in the end, huh? Wonder what Mr. 'I love facts' will make of that one?
Whatever the Montreal system is, they sure seemed to be winning all the puck battles.
Advancing again this year. Round 2 will be interesting; Habs were dead even with the Jets in the regular season.

...and ignorance seems to be bliss where your hockey knowledge is concerned. How come you're not ripping on Darts right now. Guess when it comes right down to it, that much maligned MTL 'system' you love to rag on so much seems to be working out ok in the end, huh? Wonder what Mr. 'I love facts' will make of that one?
Nobody really pushed him to set a high bar, but he still was clearly the Leafs' best player.

Whenever there was a scrum where guys were simply batting at the puck, it came out Montreal's way 80% of the time. The Leafs did not get many bounces.

Really? I'd say Muzzin, Holl, Hyman and Campbell were far far better.

So what you're really saying is that MTL beating the Leafs in a seven game series was really nothing more than luck? C'mon, man. They got beat because MTL simply outplayed them 98% of the series. Bad give aways by the Leafs are not considered just strokes of bad luck. TML just played incredibly badly and MTL did not.

Im a Leaf fan but i'm sorry i have to admit we are fucking arrogant! After we took a 3-1 lead the media and fans are talking about who we are playing next like wtf?! And every year you hear the same shit over and over after we win a couple of games like, "oh we are winning the cup this year bullshit", talking about thinking too far ahead. We Leaf fans are too confident on something thay hasnt happened in fifty something years.

The Marner contract is a killer. Nobody would take that, we would have to pay about 30 percent of his salary to play for somebody else. That was Dubas and Shanahans biggest mistake. I would love to see them both get canned. Other GMs are signing far better players for considerably less. I'm talking about playoff players not exhibition game players. I'm shocked when I see how little some players make compared to our big 3 and not 1 series win yet.

So MTL was the smartest team and well rested. Key players were so called injured and just returned at playoff time. This injury is called 'resting'. MTL played it smart.

Fuck that

Arrogance was Day 1
Long before playoffs even started Toronto and most fans were crowing it was a foregone conclusion that Toronto would win division and punch ticket to a "guaranteed" final four berth since playing in weaksauce division

Even on this board tons of posts about how this was the year, they would never have an easier chance to win the cup

Overpaying is a Maple Leaf tradition as old as their lack of post season success

Hey and it is not just the Stanley Cup

Very very few Leafs ever qualify for individual awards either

Leafs have a history of trading 2nd round picks for 4th line centers.
This year they traded a 1st to play with Thornton and Spezza.

Did a couple of members say my name? I'm here. No need for me to say anything. The intelligent, rational and civil members (you know who you are) are saying it all.

I don’t intend to rip Campbell, but that first goal tonight had Patrick Lalime vibes all over it. He let in some painful bad goals against the Leafs in early 2000s even if he had good enough numbers overall.
Sandin tried to console Campbell after the game. You can tell on Campbell's face he knew he let in a soft one and let the team down.

Clearly I did not. I mentioned earlier 3 or 4 more significant reasons why the Leafs lost. Did you skip some posts or do you need some Prevagen?

I know that you love taking shots at me but you've got to pick your spots better. That one was a very weak fail.

yip, the team that wanted it more won. The three obvious factors in the series was Price, Marner and Matthews. Leafs were not playoff hungry or ready.
