Dude is low-key brilliant, I am surprised he'd make that error, that said, who the hell cares? It was a small error, what a stupid thing to blast someone over.

It's a size of the Mount Everest error to China. And Taiwan (Republic of China) is a country, whether the Chinese commies like it or not.

He isn't an ambassador or a politician, he is a movie celeb and former wrestler.
The Chicoms don't care. It is a really, really big deal to them.

This is China flexing its market power over Hollywood and even if Cena though it was stupid to apologize he basically had to or he would likely be blackballed by most of Hollywood.

Taiwan should be a country. It has democratic freedoms separate from the CCP. And US naval ships are parked on the shores of Taiwan driving the CCP crazy.

What is and isn't a country is partially decided by whether other people say is or isn't a country.

Actually, it is decided by the people who live there. Especially in the democratic society which Taiwan clearly is. We used to call it self determination and it was a pretty fucking big deal....just not for the people of the Republic of China.

They do not deserve any consideration. Taiwan must be protected from CCP aggression and incursions.
Anyone thinking that saving $2 at WalMart is worth the price of their dictatorship needs to take a long look at the past year and a half.
What has our Federal Liberal government said in support of Taiwan against China? Crickets....when Taiwan provided Canada with PPE, crickets.

Canada should immediately tell China, "Release the two Michaels or we will immediately recognize Taiwan as the sole Legitimate representative of China."

Communist (dictatorship) China's ONLY legitimacy is at the barrel of a gun.

Thugs.

This is the same Chinese government that threw a shit fit when some low-level NBA exec with the San Antonio Spurs made a (seemingly) innocuous Tweet about supporting Freedom for Hong Kong.

The CCP flipped out; and then the NBA Commissioner publicly reprimanded the exec; and then he had to walk his comments back; and then LeBron James got dragged into it right in the middle of a Chinese promotional tour.

The CCP are a bunch of thugs.

Indeed. I recall it being a significant moment when Biden began to receive calls from foreign leaders congratulating him on his victory despite Trump’s refusal to concede.

I don’t know much about China’s internal politics but, from an outsider’s POV, this is not the behaviour of a strong, confident regime that enjoys widespread public support. This looks like a regime that is struggling to hold onto power.

From placing Uyghurs in concentration camps to crushing dissent in Hong Kong, this is not how governments behave when things are going well.

And that doesn’t even take into account all of China’s bs and secrecy around covid...

...and then there’s the Two Michaels...

smh

Anyone remember when Daryl Morey, GM of the Houston Rockets tweeted:

"Fight for Freedom, Stand with Hong Kong."

Those six simple words created a major geopolitical shitstorm that almost cost him his job.

So LeBron James calls for his resignation and infers that Morey isn't "educated" on the subject but proceeds to display his own profound ignorance:

"Yes, we all do have freedom of speech, but at times, there are ramifications for the negative that can happen when you're not thinking about others and you only think about yourself, I don't want to get into a word or sentence feud with Daryl Morey, but I believe he wasn't educated on the situation at hand, and he spoke."

"So many people could have been harmed, not just financially, but physically, emotionally, spiritually," James continued. "So just be careful what we tweet and what we say and what we do — even though, yes, we do have freedom of speech, but there can be a lot of negative that comes with that, too."

How are we going to protect Taiwan from military invasion from the
mainland? Send an army to Taiwan to fight the CCP?
