Well I predicted the Leafs would take this in four......Obviously I am in error.

Carey Price surprised me. No doubt about it.

My heart goes out to Tavares. He's a classy guy and a good role model for the younger guys coming into the league.

The NHL needs more players like him

They may move Kerfoot to play center on the 2nd line and bring in Engvall to play 3rd line with Nash and Micky.

I'm picking the Leafs in 4. Too much talent.
There goes that idea - lets pick them in 6. Price is a beast in net.

Thornton 2 turnovers 2 goals against. I think I may have called this game 2 to 1 Montreal.
Nash came as advertised. Zero offense. He'll be used to protect a lead if Leafs ever get one.
Nylander bounced one off the crossbar with a prone Price hurt.
That Price save on Marner from pass from Nylander was brilliant.
Between Galchenyuk, Engvall, or Brooks I don't know who's coming in.
I'm having nightmares tonight so let's try Marincin at centre.

It's only game 1, lots of hockey left.
Matthews is showing some ferocity, I love it when his mojo is in overdrive.
Nylander showed up to play, you could feel the fire in his belly, he was engaged on every level.
Kudos to him for manning up.

So guys skating a full speed always are to be able to control this right???
Probably not but it's the same concept as a player needing to control their stick at all times. Even if one player accidentally high sticks another they still get penalized.

Actually a shoulder should be easier to control than a stick.

I would like to see the different line ups in game 2.
Line 1: Foligno, Mathews, Marner
Line 2: Zach Hayman, Spezza, Nylander Line 3: Thorton, Adam, kerfoot
Line 4: Mikheyev, Nash, Simmons

It's obvious that the changed line ups didn't work for the Leafs favorite part. It needs change back what has worked out best for the whole season immediately.

Go Leafs Go!!!

I was never a fan of Kerfoot. Turns out he's the only Leaf player all season to get outchanced. Quite frankly I think Brooks is a better player.
No one mentioned Rielly but I think he played a great game. Defensively he was sound. With the puck confident and no turnovers.
Montreal is a rush team. That's how they dominated early in their season. Anderson especially is one Monteal tries to set up on the rush.
Matthews was fantastic. He got his chances. Bounced one off the post even. Put in a few hits. And that smile was golden.
Thornton is just too slow. Not just his foot speed but reaction time. Any of Galchenyuk, Engvall, or Brooks is a better option.

yip, unfortunate injury to Tavares. It will be tougher, but I think the Leafs will still take out Montreal. I thought Foligno's fight with Perry didnt mean a whole lot. It was an accident and was not intentional.
