palestine hates us they're the ones always throwing rocks at us Jews.
I don’t support Palestinians throwing rocks, firing missiles, etc. at Jews. But what you are proposing is far worse...it would end badly for everyone involved, including Israel.

I’m not saying I have all the answers but I know an obvious mistake when I see one and I think Israel is taking this in the wrong direction.

Do you believe that is true?

I honestly don’t know. I haven’t paid enough attention to the CBC’s coverage to have an opinion one way or the other.

If I did a search of CBC’s coverage of the recent conflict in Gaza would I find any articles that reflected poorly on Israel?
To be honest, I've stopped paying attention to mainstream coverage of the issue. What I've seen in the past was total watered down and biased news pieces, but I'm not talking about the recent events.

A lot of people and organizations are afraid of the "antisemitic" label, which is why the state of Israel is often not called out most of the times. Netanyahu using this situation to stay in power seems to be "going too far" for some.

These right wingers are just reporting total lies and fabrications about the situation. Jesus needs to come back and save the Jews......

Well Charlemagne, after all your posts calling out racism, now we know what kind of racist you are.

It's not so much in agreement with Al Jazeera as noting the obvious bias from our corporate welfare Canadian news station

But seriously go type in cbc.ca

Top news stories for today:
Stanley Cup Playoffs
Tree Experts Stumped by Tree Growth
Animals Rarely Avoid Mating with Relatives
Travelers Mindset for Pandemic (imagining what you would do if you could travel lol)
Podcast of Women Lied to by Men Online
1982 Vancouver Canucks Playoff Run

THAT is the TOP stories for today
I understand hockey sells but the others???
Not a WORD about vaccines or lockdowns (beyond a day dream fluff piece) or protests
Not a word about world events

Seriously is it any wonder people such as myself scream to defund the CBC?

I am seriously in awe of anyone who thinks this is real journalism.... not even Rebel News is as biased to their echo chamber
Send a message to the CBC ombudsman.
They respond and take action.

Well Charlemagne, after all your posts calling out racism, now we know what kind of racist you are.
The Al J article was calling out CBC for not reporting on the HRW report that found Israel to be apartheid.
This is the 4th major report finding Israel apartheid.

I'd say supporters of apartheid are the real racists here.

I find CBC new almost unwatchable. With the exception of Ian Hanamansing, every new reporter is so left biased, it's not fucking funny.

Since Mansbridge left, the whole news group at the CBC has gone for a dump.

Sins on both sides in the Middle East. Hard to know what a lasting peaceful solution will look like, if possible at all given the mutual extreme hatred.

Wikipedia article says Human Rights Watch has been criticized for obvious bias against several countries, especially Israel, so maybe that's why their reports blaming Israel for the "troubles" are not mentioned by North American mainstream news sources.

Very sorry to hear about Bo, especially having at one time owned a Portuguese Water Dog myself. Bo lived for about 13 years, just about the same as mine. At least the Obamas still have Sunny, the female Portuguese they bought a few years after Bo. I remember reading that Bo bit somebody, but I guess he got a Presidential pardon...
Really happy to hear about your opinion about ..bullshit. Evidently what you care about, as loudly as possible to drown out actual significant events. STFU.

If what you’re suggesting is that the State of Israel perpetrate a full scale Palestinian genocide:
1. That is appalling;
2. The international community would not allow it;
3. The majority of Israeli citizens would not support it.
1. Wrong.
2. Wrong
3. Wrong
Wake tf up. But you don't want to. YES - A FULL SCALE GENOCIDE BY THE STATE OF ISRAEL HAS BEEN UNDERWAY FOR DECADES.

What Israel has done is nothing compared to what the Palestinians would do to the Israeli Jews if the tables were turned. Their publicly stated desire is to drive the Israeli Jews into the sea. There would be near zero tolerance for Jews in Israel, just as is the case in Iraq, etc.

It is only support for Israel from the West that has prevented this from happening.

I guess a billion dollars plus of taxpayer's money doesn't go as far as used to.

This article is about Al Jazeera’s criticizing the CBC for not speaking critically enough of Israel. As I understand it, criticizing Israel is considered a leftie thing to do and, as such, the CBC is being criticized for not being Far Left enough.

If I didn’t know better, I would almost think that some of you guys don’t put a lot of thought into your posts and you just kinda hate the CBC as a matter of principle.

Is advocating for a Palestinian genocide in violation of terb’s Hate Speech rules?

I guess we’ll find out...Post reported for Promoting Genocide.
So...it appears that @cmfan has had almost all of his posts deleted.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Thank you to the mods for clamping down on Hate Speech.

Cop bitten, older man beaten with stick during series of protests in downtown Toronto: police

Police are investigating after a man was seen beaten with sticks following a rally of mostly pro-Palestine supporters at NPS.

Three people were charged after incidents at Saturday protests in Toronto concerning the provincial lockdown and the Israel-Palestine conflict, including a man accused of biting a police officer and another incident where a man was allegedly struck in the head with a wooden stick.
The first charge was laid during an anti-COVID-19 lockdown march that began at Queen’s Park on Saturday afternoon and snaked its way through many downtown streets.
Toronto police say more than 5,000 people attended the march between noon and 4 p.m.

Thousands gathered at Nathan Phillips Square in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
At one point, police allege a 24-year-old Mississauga man assaulted two police officers, biting one of them.
Const. David Hopkinson said the assault was “unprovoked” and occurred while protesters were gathered at Queen’s Park.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer and mischief.
He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Sunday.
Toronto police say during a second demonstration more than 5,000 people gathered in Nathan Philips Square on Saturday night, the majority of them demonstrating in solidarity with the Palestinian’s suffering through Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, and a smaller group demonstrating against rocket attacks on Israel by terror group Hamas.
A CP24 reporter saw bottles thrown in the square and sporadic instances of people shoving each other.
Police said a 29-year-old Toronto man was arrested in the square for allegedly bringing a weapon to the demonstration, and a 22-year-old Thornhill man was charged with assault.
Officers said more may be charged in the coming days.
“Police are continuing to investigate this event and have been clear that organizers and attendees of events are subject to enforcement and that charges can be laid in the days following events,” police said in a statement issued on Sunday.
After the gathering at the square, several videos circulating on social media showed several masked men, one with a Palestinian flag pinned to his back, attacking an older man with what appeared to be wooden sticks.
Toronto Mayor John Tory said he received video of the incident.
“I have been in touch with (Toronto Police) Chief James Ramer and have made available to him a video of a particularly disturbing incident which had been sent to me.”
"Hate, anti-Semitism and violence have no place in our city," Tory said.
The assault appeared to occur near the downtown Toronto bus terminal.
Police said they were “actively investigating the incident” and urged anyone with information to contact 52 Division.
In an earlier appearance on CP24, Tory also called both marches “deeply regrettable” given their public health implications.

Gee Frankfooter, we can always count on your anti-semitic pov too.
Calling for equal rights is anti-semitic?
Being against apartheid is anti-semitic?

Wait, there's a problem here.
First, there is no Palestine any more, so Israel has already done it. They've destroyed a country.

Oh, and western support?

Frankfooter has a long history of antisemitism on Terb. He got banned several times under the handle Flubadub and Groggy. He was banned just lately for several months it never stops. His other partner when it comes to ME conflicts is Gryfin, had to change his handle to Viminal because instead of continuing his attacks against Israel he moved towards antisemitism. So yes you have it right.
