PS: I don't mean to offend anyone. I am only asking since you guys give insightful answers.
On the surface, it appears that both of them promise you that you'll be like "Toulouse Lautrec lifestyle" a guy who gets laid a lot and lives a type of fun nightlife.
However, in practice, it seems that the opposite is that case not only these two communities don't overlap but they also seem to attract very different groups of people.
The hobbyist community seems to attract guys who have money to pay for sex and have these experiences. At least, from my perspective, most guys seem to be fairly liberal
and don't seem to have any misogynistic ideas. Which is also congruent since we are living a somewhat promiscuous lifestyle. It wouldn't make sense to shame women.
On the other hand, the PUA community seems to attract a lot of broke guys. Hence their only chance of living this "lifestyle" is through their seduction skills. However, being broke
affect their perspective. For instance, no woman is going to want to date a guy who lives with his parents. Hence, many of them struggle a lot trying to bring women but to their place.
Students: It seems to be a lot of the students "graduate" from PUA/dating to become right-wingers/nationalists who believe in traditional values. A lot of them tell me that they got into it, not for sex but to get "validation" from women. Some of these guys are a walking contradiction since they seem to want to hook up with many women but at the same time want a virgin wife.
Coaches: What's unfortunate, is that many of the "coaches" are internet marketers who are only in the "men's dating" space to make money off men.
"Progressive PUA"
It's unfortunate, in practice you can do both, I know cause I have done it. In that I was in Las Vegas, I went I had an SB come over hook up with her and practice my technique. Then I went to the nightclub to try to pick up women and managed to pull a German woman to come to an afterparty.
