This idiot should donate all the money he made in 30 years from the gig...

Longtime The Simpsons actor Hank Azaria has apologized to “every Indian person” for voicing Kwik-E-Mart owner Apu Nahasapeemapetilon.

Azaria, who voiced the fan favourite character since he first appeared on the show in 1990, issued the apology Monday on Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s podcast Armchair Expert. It was especially poignant for Padman, who is Indian.

IMO no apology is needed, he is known for his ability to voice over many different characters. This was part of the show, it was nice for him to acknowledge it for sure but no need to apologize - I'm sure all the cultures he is able to voice understand.

He's just trying to get ahead of the impending cancel curve.

But you're right... if he is actually apologizing for something that needs no apology, he ought to return all of the money he was paid for the gig plus interest.

Fake outrage, what is the problem? He should keep every penny and hope he invested it well.

No need to apologize IMHO. After all, Apu was always the good guy in the Simpsons, Homer was the idiot. Indian accent is the indian accent. There are so many different accents, I have NP having a laugh at some of them. Many "white" accents are also made fun off. Schulz in Hogans heros? Slow talking southern accents?

No apology needed.... quit kissing ass, Hank. The actors on Kim's Convenience are faking their Korean accents too.

Hank Azaria has nothing to apologize for. There must be an echo between the ears of SJWs.

Apu was the Vishnu of Springfield. He was easily the most intelligent character on the show. He showed great patience and humour dealing with all the doughheads that passed by on a daily basis. He should have eventually become Mayor.

This bullshit has to end, or else the David Bowie/George Orwell prophecy will become reality.

The Simpsons is full of stereotypes. Fat Tony, the old geezers, the bumblebee man, Flanders, Luigi Risotto. Apu was actually a lovable character. Idiotic for an actor, whose job it is to impersonate, to apologize for doing his job. But, we live in the idiotic time. Did Jimmy Kimmel apologized for the Man Show, yet?
