That’s what Sandin and Robertson are AHL players, Ottawa doesn’t need more of those.

So that’s where you’re going to now...insults...you didn’t take getting schooled very well.
Calling someone an AHL player really means that's as far as he'll go.
Just because they're in the AHL right now doesn't mean they are AHL players.

For most of the players in the AHL it is as far as they can go...if they are playing in the AHL at the moment then they are AHL players.

Do we call every junior hockey player an NHL prospect, no we call them a junior hockey player...do we call every NCAA football player an NFL prospect, no we call them a college football player...

I'm not interested in playing a silly word game...and all the word game is doing is deflecting from the original argument...Ottawa is not going to trade or even consider a trade of their best player for Nylander and an AHL player.

It's not a silly word game.
Nylander played on the Marlies, was he considered an "AHL" player, or was he a great NHL prospect who was being seasoned in the minors.
And it's not deflecting from the argument, if you're criteria for assessing a player is drastically different than someone else's,
how do you expect to persuade or be persuaded, unless being right at any expense is the motivation.

Prospect or Player, call them what you want...

But, you can be an AHL player and an NHL prospect...also, a "great NHL prospect" doesn't play in the AHL.

Aren't you 3 guys glad that we have a "non-kinder, non-gentler" Leafs thread?

Carry on.

I was merely responding to your post #725 re “Leafs going all in on trade deadline” with a wish list. I thought we were talking in a kinder, gentler way until someone decided to try to “school” those who disagreed with him and a glass heart calling insult when told of his mistake. Anyway I agree that it’s becoming rather silly and I shall so digress.

I made no mistake...

You made a couple ridiculous imaginary trade proposals and I gave you my opinion.

You then tried to deflect from your foolishness but making a big deal that there is a difference between "NHL prospect and AHL prospect" when we were talking about the same players while you are ignoring your original ridiculous trade proposal.

Now you've gone passive aggressive...

It wasn't a wish list of mine. I just reposted an article that I thought might be interesting for discussion.

Anyways, I wasn't passing judgement on the tone. Once in a while, It's nice to just read it instead of being involved.

The team will have to change for 2022.
How so?
I mean, every team changes personnel every year.
The Maple Leafs have 6 U.F.A.'s & 1 R.F.A. on the active roster right now.
Toronto is going to lose someone to Seattle.
So yes, it's extremely unlikely the entire band will be getting back together.,

Since you still want to drag this on, I’ll gladly oblige. I’ll try to do it in a gentler, kinder way so not to hurt your feelings again, ok ?

You called Sandin/Robertson/Amirov “AHL PROSPECTS“ in one post, yet in another you referred them as “AHL PLAYERS”, if Sandin and Robertson are already playing regularly in the AHL, why would they be considered “AHL prospects“ ? Do you not understand the difference between “players“ and “prospects“ ?
All 3 were drafted by the Leafs, not by the Marlies, so they are “NHL PROSPECTS”, not “AHL PROSPECTS“ like you labeled them as.

Are you still not man enough to admit that it was a mistake on your part ? or are you still trying to twist and spin trying to deflect it ?

Why does it matter you may ask ? It is because many big trades are made with exchange of “NHL PROSPECTS“ for NHL players, and often they are added to balance the deal. These three are considered top prospects in the Leafs organization and valuable trade chips especially in combination with a top six forward like Nylander, whether you agree or not.

Further, I didn’t make any imaginary trade proposals, only telling what was on my wish list, and despite my numerous attempts to explain that to you and that I didn’t expect it to happen, you still hopped on it and used derogatory adjectives to talk down on these so called imaginary trade proposals. You seem to think that only your opinions matter and any other opinions are either silly, stupid or ridiculous. I have absolutely no problems dealing with opposite opinions but it’s this kind of attitude that I have problems with.

My fucking God...you’re still on this NHL/AHL prospect thing...we were talking about the same players, what the fuck does it matter?

Back to the point...Rasmus Sandin is playing in his third year of AHL hockey, he couldn’t beat out Travis Dermott for a spot...I’ll say it yet again, throwing an AHL player in with Nylander doesn’t sweeten the deal to land Ottawa’s best player...go ahead and call them NHL prospects all you want, Sandin and Robertson, but it’s shitty deal for Ottawa.
