Paradise by the dashboard light.
Doubt it. If he doesnt buy 2 pizzas he likely sells when they double up for $80. How many owned Amazon in 2001 that still own it now? Its hard to not sell when something goes 50% or doubles up or triples up. Its really hard psychologically to buy and hold.
that is the great psychological barrier of man. should he trade for a better wife

This is extremely simple at it's core so stop trying to complicate it and stop talking out your ass. Bitcoin is a currency. Currencies are valued at what people decide. The most trusted currency is government regulated currency which we call fiat money. The reason fiat money is trusted is because it used by countries at the highest level as a form to trade. The only way for this shit to ever rise in value is for either A) government accepts and replace it as their own currency, or B) people deciding it worth something for whatever the fuck reason. Seeing as bitcoin doesn't produce anything, we can stare at it all day long and nothing going to come out it so there's zero reason for it gain value.
Well, in finite world with knows end time and population size it is true that Bitcoin must collapse. With the infinite (or uncertain) time horizon it is possible to have to have Bitcoin (or anything with predetermined fixed supply) to increase in value at the rate of GDP increase. Any faster increase is not sustainable by construction. However, to support this steady-sate increase it is required that (1) people believe that such increase will be sustained indefinitely and (2) there will be almost no volatility in this growth rate. Anything above 2% a year real growth rate for an asset that is not tied to producing good and services is a bubble.

This the problem. Other people have realized it's a good scam so it's being copied. At the end of the day, none produce anything. The question then becomes why would buy any of them??
this is a philosophical level of question that can only be answered by the greed of humanity over times isnt it?

Why hasn’t Hollywood written a good Bitcoin heist movie yet. What’s the downside? You go in, you get out, nobody gets hurt

Because that would be boring.

There will be a bitcoin movie eventually. Probably one about heisting a password (more conning one).
The other possibility I see is pulling a Worthless Treasure twist with it. Someone will kill someone for a Bitcoin wallet and there will have been a crash and the whole thing is worthless.

The more crypto that comes out, the more it devalues other crypto, only to realize they’re all worth nothing.

I don't forsee Buffett and Munger shorting Bitcoin but some of their peers might. The cryptocurrency got a big boost when the tax haven Bank of Luxembourg backstopped them. However the problem with the currency still exists, it eats up too much energy to produce and the price of electricity is not going down. Especially with more electric cars coming online.

They might, Hollywood made three very good pump and dump films last decade. All are required viewing.

The Wolf of Wall Street
The Big Short
Molly's Game

First MasterCard, now Visa. This is the year of institutional adoption. I don’t care about your opinions on bitcoin or crypto, it’s not going away any time soon, if you can’t see that then there’s no discussion to be had because you’re letting hate cloud your judgment.

my issue with bitcoin is you can get similalr high returns with stocks, there are so many of them you can choose exactly how much risk you can take one.

why bother with a crypto broker and all that funny business when i have all my investment needs taken care of by questrade.

or if i want to diversify from stocks id rather buy real estate.
