I got my first photo radar speeding ticket. How in the fuck is going 12 clicks over the limit worthy of a ticket??
Total money grab!! Going 52 kmh is not an excessive speed

Looks like Lenny was right after all Phil

We need lockdowns to save the lives lost from traffic fatalities as well as needing them to save Phil a few bucks

Don't cry too much, I got my first red light cam ticket 2 weeks ago...

$325.00

WTF!!!

I think they're really ramping up on these things.

A work colleague of mine got one for doing 45 in a 40. Apparently they are installing them like mad these days and in school zones, even 2 km/hr over, you get a ticket now.

Seems simple enough for those few seconds it takes to drive through the school zone drive like an angel, after that speed up.
I seem to recall that they post signs that you are approaching a speed camera.
Pretty sure Waze also warns you.

I was listening to John Tory on 1010 stating in school zones, they have set them at 5Km over with an increase in the ticket as the speed goes up. He justified using the kids safety but I think dinging someone for 5KM over is ridiculous.

Simple. Don't speed. They put them where they did for a reason...because they're in residential neighbourhoods and they want to keep those communities safe. If it were up to me, it would be a 1-year license suspension.
1 year suspension for 12 km over?

You German?

Going through red lights is dangerous. I support a high fine for such a dangerous offence

You should get a high fine for running red lights. This is VERY dangerous. I almost got t-boned by an idiot running a red.
FYI the red light camera only triggers if you enter the intersection AFTER the light has turned red.

I agree.

I'm not a red light runner, not at all, but in this case, obviously I was in the intersection when it was red. They had a very clear photo of my vehicle, my plates, the light. There's no disputing it. I paid it.

It's the first one I've ever received. I was just amazed at the price.

I can't say I specifically remember the incident. But I do recall one time going thru a light where it went red and I thought "oh shit". All I can say was I recall the timing of my approach to the intersection being off. Usually I watch the time count down on the crosswalk and slow down in advance to time it to be able to stop.

I don't remember the specifics as the infraction occurred in January and I got the ticket 2 weeks ago. I just remember being aware that I knew I timed it badly. It was not that I deliberately ran a red, it was that I fucked up.

Maybe. But, the camera pointing North on Jane right before Eglinton maybe technically in the "community safety zone", but it's surely not designed to enforce it. At least it's in a 50 km/h stretch.

I've been punching in all addresses in neighbourhoods (there are a few hotspots in my area where the police are using their new F150 stealth trucks to speed trap) not mine into Waze. Photo and redlight camera warnings are lovely......
