It was estimated before that 10% of the population was gay/bi/queer, those numbers did not include trans people previously. It really isn't that huge a jump when you consider the additional classifications that are now included. And yes, as Maya said, there seems be a general movement in society where people are choosing to not let norms hold them back from living their authentic lives more so than ever. I know some older generational folk who have questions about their own sexuality but the pressure put on them from that generations society still impedes them being able to comfortably explore, which leads to more questioning for them. It's a goddam tragedy. Being closeted is still far worse than having drinks thrown at you though, so kudos on everyone who makes the choice to come out.

There may be a small number of people experimenting or trying it for popularity in their group (IMO someone who is tempted enough to try it is not completely straight) but the far more obvious reason is fewer people are hiding who they are.

Michel Foucault, Gayle Rubin, Pat Califia, and Judith Butler are considered grandparents and icons of Queer Theory. They also all argued for the legalization of child sexual abuse by adults at various points in their careers. These are the originators of the gender-bending queer ideas that have gotten a foothold in our culture and the youth of today. It might behoove us to gain an understanding as to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Perhaps social media could be a factor but also we have more and more stars coming out and joining the LGBTQ+ community which could also be aiding those younger ones to feel like they are supported.
Something my parents always told me is that what wasn't tolerated well before generally becomes more acceptable into each new generation
In a way I do feel blessed that I am in a generation that has all these LGBTQ resources available at our disposable
At the end of the day its hard for humans to fight off what they are attracted to regardless of gender.
When I hit the gym back in the day, there was a (clearly) gay guy who had a massive golden collar around the base of his dick and balls. It must have been worth a few thousand $$$$$$.

For Bruce Jenner going trans didn't get him the benefits he thought it would. Kaitlyn Jenner became the butt end of roast jokes, Nikki Glaser was warned not to tell certain jokes.
The trans community wanted someone who's persona wasn't laced with mendacity, someone genuine...they didn't have to wait long. The Euphoria special episodes were better than anything currently available, HBO slays again.
Not just trans, almost a 21 Century baby.

i am just wondering if any other animals on Earth have such high proportion? Any types of primates? Or is it just humans? Anyone knows of any studies? If it is just humans, when did the mutation happened? It cannot be the result of natural selection.
Funny. Due to family circumstances(a shrink for a parent), I grew up among the, as they say today, mentally challenged.
It's very sad that kids are being used as pawns to promote a bizzarre political and media narrative/agenda.
