No bars, no restaurants, no strip joints ... where the hell is everyone going after 8 PM  - ho-hum for me at this stage.
Alcohol sales will go through the roof! I am sincerely sad for my fellow Canadians.

Funny, eh? All week the media has been reporting about our "civil servants" travelling south to escape our winter, yet they're implementing martial law for the rest of us. Our "leaders" are now officially off their rockers, clueless and helpless to offer anything of value. Their level of incompetence is approaching the biblical scale.

What's the point of a curfew when so many people are still going to work every day?
It makes as much sense as most of the pro-lockdown mandates made to date that you've supported. Interesting to see so many pro-lockdown hardliners in this thread finally seeing how ridiculous things are becoming.

You were warned in the beginning but ignored the calls for reason. Now you're going to have to live in a world of shit.

Remember, the hardliners didn’t have a crystal ball. It takes a lot for a strong man to change his position on things. This is progress.

If he tries curfew and numbers keep going up, he and the medical roundtable will look so foolish. I will get my popcorn ready
Im a Sales Executive for one of the largest tech companies in the world. The fastest and easiest way for someone to sell something is to scare them into buying.

At the end of the day. Williams is selling healthcare capacity & death and Ford is buying.

Ontario considering implementing curfew similar to Quebec’s, sources say | Globalnews.ca

the last sentence

Sources said the government has previously considered a curfew, but ultimately decided against it. It is unclear what decision will be made this time.
All depends how the test subjects (multiple puns there ;)) behave. That is, if the French will take it up the ass without a fight they know the English will be easy.

Remember how the French reacted to a minor tuition increase? They went nuts. Whereas we English just bend over a let them take turns on us.

The curfew will come if dumbasses keep breaking the guidelines.

If you are one of them, please do not cry when you have to be sitting at home by 8pm.

You are correct. But unfortunately in the current situation death rate does not mean much.

It's hospitalization that public health care about. And it's not really even for the number of beds. Extreme measure are taken to make sure our healthcare workforce can handle it.

I do not know about Ontario but in Quebec they all had their christmas vacation refused. 6500 are currently in quarantine (with the virus or preemptively).

It's all about them.
Most of the deaths are in long term care homes and hospitals are usually full at this time of year anyways.

What guidelines are people breaking. Everything is closed and there's no where to go. The only dumbasses breaking them are the politicians vacationing. These guidelines were a farse from day one.

Here in Quebec, people are fucking breaking the guidelines all the time. I know bunches of people who threw big xmas parties and new years parties. They are really upset there is a curfew because they can't have a house party after visiting their uncle in the hospital.

So is there proof that the gatherings are the cause of the spread. Are the PCR tests accurate. Most of the deaths are in the LTC homes Do you not see how political this thing had become. Have you ever in our history seen a shutdown because of a virus.

I am starting to think Government is just recycling covid counts from retirement homes and LTC. Those numbers will never ever go down. There are probably permanent covid test stations at breakfast time.

Yes, it has become massively political, which is part of what is fucking up the response so badly.
