can you dig it!

Good thing those wall street and business experts are still laughing now although it’s starting to sound hysterical. How about our resident self proclaimed terb experts who kept a saying Tesla stock was a gamble, it was foolish to invest in Tesla and they would go out of business. Their stock was like 85.5 in March taking into account the split and not its 790. Hope some of you guys took the advice that was kept being repeated.

Can you say bunch of self proclaimed expert dumb asses. I deleted that thread about Tesla stocks although you know who you are. Problem is you will still not realize your deficiencies and delusions and will still come up with ways to justify how right you were not to invest in Tesla and Elon Musk.

This is exactly the reason not to believe much you hear on terb. Usually the ones who sound like they know what they are talking about actually know fuck all and wouldn’t be on here if they did know.

Elon Musk is our 21st century genius
Yea very true.

His motivations are simple. Love for humanity and protect consciousness by making humanity a multi planetary species.

He is doing this through projects like with SpaceX, starlink, Tesla/solar city, boring co,neuralink to build an empire to enable humans to live on Mars and moon and be more sustainable.

That’s his motivation and he’s been open with it since the beginning as corny as it sounds.

I can’t find the Joe Rogan clip now where he says as corny as it sounds love is the answer. There is another clip where he clearly says the part about the multi planetary part but again during the starship event but looks like it’s gone now.

In terms of his personality and how he treats people that’s up for debate, multiple wives, gfs and kids that’s and up for interpretation. Some people are okay with that lifestyle. No doubt he has improved humanity, the earth, and will continue to improve our life here.

Elon Musk is a megalomaniac.
Don't worry all the self made billionaire are fucked up. Steve Jobs knew he was unbearable. That's why he said a businessman like him should never go into politics!

I admire Elon a lot. But he is far from the richest. We need to say he is the one with the most value. Elon is one twitt away from a 20 billion devaluation...

Quite similar for Bezos although the risk of big devaluation are very low with him as he is not a showman. But still remove him from Amazon and there you go he would lose half his $ value...

The richest is still Gates because now his value is spread out in multiple different assets that protects him from big devaluation.

Plus bozos had to give away 32 billion. I don't get how he has improved humanity? There will never be life on Mars in his lifetime, is he gonna live forever?
When there are people there will always be conflict and no one person will change that, so the love part is irrelevant. Has tesla ever actually turned a profit?
Glad he's accomplished what he has but exploring living on Mars or the moon is laughable.

I applaud all these guys who have made billions on amazing inventions or smart business concepts. However here’s a guy who threatened to move his California Tesla plant earlier this year when the governor told him he would have to shut down his plant for awhile to try and slow down the spread of COVID. He’s in it for himself, he wants to change the world but in a way that will benefit him.

Direct example of how he has improved humanity is star link. https://www.businessinsider.com/spa...-indigenous-community-pikangikum-musk-2020-12
Now the underprivileged are getting a better chance in life to education to information and opportunities. I think the plan is to make internet affordable for people in remote places.

Secondary examples include getting people off ICE vehicles and onto electric which also pushed and accelerated many places around the world to start banning ICE vehicles. Some would argue that electric vehicles are also depleting natural resources due to battery production however they claim new technology advancements and recycling programs should be able to address the demands and problems with sustainability.

Future direct example includes neural link. Imagine if a person is paralyzed and will have access to limbs, prosthetic, better accessibility and communication. It will improve their life.

I don’t know if Tesla has made a profit however their stocks have skyrocketed in the past year and is the reason he is the richest person on earth.

They also laughed at Elon when he wanted to reuse rockets and land boosters on a barge floating in the ocean. They also said Tesla would go bankrupt and anyone buying Tesla stock is crazy. Now they are multi millionaires. 8x increase in less then a year?

We need people to live on these places like Moon and Mars in the event earth ever gets threatened. Such as virus, or asteroid impact or any other event that could end all life here. Getting people here will improve our technology for use on earth. It will make people understand sustainability better and how to reduce our environmental impact. It increases the odds of survival for our species.

Now we might not care, but eventually we will.

These big ideas are what drives him.

All I remember is when he tried to be the hot shot and rescue those thai kids. His idea was laughed at, his response was name calling, calling the actual hero a pedo.

Most people will never own a tesla, how practical are they anyway? Or are they just a 'look I'm saving the planet statement' by their owners? What happens to all the old batteries?

If earth is threatened how are billions of people going to get there? We will all kill each other first at that point. I don't get the whole space exploration thing.

He should be putting all his money into preventing child sex trafficking, something worthwhile.

Yeah that pedo incident was so bizarre and many of his supporters were banging their heads and wondering WTF Elon ? Sometimes he goes off on weird rants.

The thing about electric vehicles is they will become ubiquitous. Many countries and cities are banning internal combustion engine vehicles. By 2040 it will be hard to find one. Right now Tesla is more valuable then any car company out ATM.

Eventually you might not have a choice but buy a Tesla if their product proves to be cheapest and the best value.

This is a huge disruption.

That's assuming there's no competition from other manufacturers. Which the chances of that is close to zero.

I disagree, who will pay for all of the charging stations at malls, parking garages, broken hoses from being yanked on or abused? The 15k battery replacement cost after 7 years?

Maybe malls will only need a certain amount as not everyone will need it? Although I don't know much about electric cars, how long they last etc. Is there a used car market for them or are they throwaways or trade ins?

I don't know what percent are driving them now and if they're happy with them? Will cords get damaged in driveways? I don't see them as any more than ever getting a certain percentage of the market.

Soon as he got the rockets to return I knew he’d be the richest man in history. He’s created the basis for starships, I don’t think bank accounts will be able to count high enough to accurately manage his wealth.

Like... can you imagine a visionary with a bit of loony tossed in for gold measure? He’s the walking embodiment of Howard Hughes and Randolph Hearst.

The amount he will make in the future boggles my mind.

If you need historical perspective think about the VOC - the Dutch East India Company 400 years ago had a inflation adjusted value 8x Apple or Standard Oil
Telsa is interesting but limited application - no doubt Musk is a visionary and can influence change but the real numbers are not that impressive.
Time will tell - there is nothing like an ICE for visceral excitement

What happens to Tesla when all car companies start making electric cars. Someone asked me if I would ever buy an electric car, I told them that I may when Toyota makes them

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Tesla’s due to poor reliability as reported by current owners.
