Like wearing a condom, wearing a mask is just common sense

1) How would you know you haven't already done so? Do you test each condom before you put it on?

Or at intervals during sex to make sure it hasn't been compromised?

2) Even if i knew the condom could allow HIV to penetrate, i would still wear it as opposed to the only alternative being the less safe option of no condom at all.

An umbrella with a few miniscule holes that allows a few drops to drip through is far better than no umbrella at all. Obviously i'd use that umbrella rather than no protection whatsoever.
If the condom allowed the HIV to penetrate, I'd stop fucking everything that moves. That's what any reasonable person would do. Or become monogamous. The fact that you wouldn't, just makes me laugh.

You're missing the point. The comparison is between wearing a highly effective (but not 100% safe) mask or condom and not wearing one at all. Obviously you are a fool if you choose the less safe option of none at all.

BTW, you appear to be ignorant of safe sex options that can be just as safe, if not even more so, as wearing a condom.

Sure. Climate change is a real thing. I learned that in gr.3 when they told us about the ice ages. Thanks for a reminder. As for masks. The N95 is designed to stop 95% of anything down to 3 microns. Covid is about 1 micron. ...

----------------------

"To bad with those numbers you missed a few important details. First, a virus needs to pass through all those layers without making contact with any fibres. Brownian motion of those small particles makes it very unlikely even ignoring the way that fibres are electostatically polarized to attract particles that would otherwise miss them). More importantly is transmission of covid seems to be primarily in aerosolized droplets which are much larger than 0.3 microns. Nothing is sillier than people who try to use science without having bothered looking into it."

I think that the condom comparison is incorrect. I would never put on a condom that allows the clap to penetrate.
Condoms provide protection but do not provide 100% protection. The same applies to masks. Although the percentage of protection would be different, the concept is the same.

BTW, you are implying that you check the condoms before you put them on. Do you use an electron microscope, because that is what you'd need to detect defects that are large enough to let the pathogens through, and large enough means microns. That was a silly comment.

What is really silly is not seeing the obvious difference between the proven technology, long established standards and minimum requirements government regs that regulate the quality of rubbers and the pos Chinese masks that are produced without any of those requirements. But, nice try at trolling.

Unsupported nonsense & irrelevant to the point made which exposed your error. The fact is masks have been repeatedly tested & proven to be effective.

Almost 2,000 new cases today. I see masks are still working great 😂

How many times have you posted that sarcastic line? Dozens? The same number of times it's been answered?

Covidiot defined, explained & psychoanalyzed:

The rest of this post is from a previous response to McNasty re masks:

So are you now abandoning your argument there is no 2nd wave in Ontario, and focusing on masks again??
I didn't state there is no second wave in Ontario. And the OP is about masks not working while the present subtopic is regarding your ridiculous & false claim that a rise in Ontario infections proves masks don't work.

That's like the dumbness of saying a rise in any one place at any time in deaths from bicycle or motor cycle accidents proves that brakes & helmets don't work.

That's like the stupidity of saying a rise in any one place at any time in STIs from sexual activities proves that safe sex and condoms don't work.

That's like the ignorance & faulty logic of saying a rise in any one place at any time in deaths from motor vehicle accidents proves that seat belts & airbags don't work.

The fact is without those safety measures, just like without masks, the number of deaths would be even worse, even higher.

You're the one who claimed a rise in coviodicy caused (or was part of a cause in) a rise in new infections.
Please show official stats that support this theory of yours
Show me official stats that oppose the view i stated:

As for infections increasing in the fall in many places, this was predicted by health experts as schools reopened, more people went back to work, more went indoors in cold weather to closer quarters in rooms often with poor ventilation. The varying rates of covidiocy, irresponsibility & lockdown fatigue are among other factors (e.g. Thanksgiving gatherings) that affect the number of infections. Without masks, whose effectiveness is scientifically supported, the fall infections increase would be way worse.

You have no evidence that covidiocy, or any number of factors working together, didn't cause the rise in infections in the fall. Did the rise in infections just happen for no reason? Is that your argument? Like i said:

Who wears masks at home? As i quoted:

"The cold in northern parts of America will push people back inside, where the virus has a much easier time spreading than the outdoors."

So all it takes for infections to rise is people spending more time indoors. Have people been doing that? With the start of the NFL season were more people staying home to watch the games?

You're the one who claimed a rise in coviodicy caused (or was part of a cause in) a rise in new infections.

If people acting less safely didn't cause the increase in infections, then in your view what caused the increase in infections? What else could be the cause of an increase in infections? Did they just increase by magic or hocus pocus or ghosts or something? LOL. You keep avoiding answering this line of questioning. Why is that? Is it starting to dawn on you how ridiculous your alleged proof that "masks don't work" (because infections went up) is?

If infections going up proves masks don't work, then shouldn't you conclude that when infections have gone down it proves that masks do work? This also exposes how ridiculous your alleged "proof" is.

Record high 1,050 new cases today, while testing has dropped. But yeah masks are working great.....LOL

Logical fallacy. You keep making the same error repeatedly. And repeatedly not getting it.

No one ever claimed masks will stop a rise in infections even when people are behaving more dangerously.

What did you expect would happen when people act in ways that increase their risk for infections? Of course the number of infections will go up.

Do you think the number of infections just go up for no reason? By magic, or something? LOL.

"Face mask mandates slowed the spread of COVID-19 in Canada"

"... This column evaluates the impact of mask mandates on the spread of COVID-19 in Canada, using the different timings that masks were mandated across the 34 health districts of the province of Ontario. Mask mandates are associated with a 25% or larger weekly reduction in new COVID-19 cases in July and August, relative to the absence of mandates.

Which masks? Name a brand, manufacturer, and the retailer. Tested when and by whom? When was the certificate issued and what are the standards? Should be very easy with millions of them in circulation right now. Btw, I know the standards and regulations behind the n95, so don't even go there as almost no one has one.

Do some reading. There has been tons of testing on all kinds of masks as you would already have known if you had read my reports in my threads on masks:

So problem solved, eh? Next topic, do it yourself condoms. It's better than nothing, eh? What do you think is more effective; reusing condoms or using a shopping bag with some lube? Btw, saw a whole crew today wearing bandanas, is that, more or less, within them stringent regulations or a fashion statement? Speaking of fashions, last year we "reassigned" a few guys who refused to shaved their beards to wear masks. The message was clear from higher, higher- we're not paying for lawsuits resulting from on the job damage due to the leaky masks. Hard decision by a caring company serious about protecting itself and its employees. Quite a contrast to the government's position on masks that cares that all wear them just not what or how. But hey! Something is better than nothing, eh? And the daily cases keep increasing and the lockdowns spread. But look, we all wear masks.

Silliness. How many people make their own condoms. OTOH many are making their own highly effective masks.

Actually there are detailed guidelines re masks.

"Thankfully we didn't have amateurs like you who didn't even know what "herd immunity" means running the show. How much worse off we'd be now! If the covidiots, hoax advocates, conspiracy nut jobs, C-19's existence deniers, or anti extreme safety measures (lockdowns, masks, etc) people were in charge we'd have over 10 million dead already instead of a small fraction of that.

Cases increase when people act less safely, e.g. more go back to work or school, more behave like covidiots, etc.

Cases do not increase because a ghost made it happen by his will, or because of a genie or for no reason whatsoever.

Masks keep infection numbers from being higher than they already are & save lives.

Studies show that mask mandates in the US & Canada were followed by a reduction in infections.

They sure didn't reduce the deaths in the LTC facilities....because of people like you who followed the "studies" and the "experts" instead of looking after those who were actually at risk. The same experts who told us that we didn't need masks, then needed them, then needed better ones, who failed to fortify our retirement homes even though they knew from the very beginning who was at risk. Oh yeah, ths same "experts" who spent the whole summer talking about the school safety, yet did NOTHING about the mass transit safety. I can go on, what's the point? I think and you follow. There's no middle ground.

Plenty has been done to protect LTC homes & more help is on the way. Also LTC home deaths are way - way - down since the early pandemic in nations all over the world. Are we doing something better than before? Who gets the credit for that?

Strawman, blather, the usual. The seniors died because we didn't give a shit about them. That's what happened in Ontario, Quebec, NY State and the Swedes even admitted to as much. In Ontario we didn't even bother to inspect most of them to this very day. But, we closed the flower shops because that was the problem. We didn't overwhelm the "system", we let them suffer and die outside of the system, fashionably alone and in their own shit. We spent way over half a trillion dollars and those who needed it most got it last, if at all. Yeah, celebrate your what ifs. Pathetic.
