I partook of their bargoon meal back in 1973. My first month in Toronto. If you ever watched "going down the road" I was a carbon copy of one of those guys.
Interesting. Have not seen “going down the road”. I’ll have to look that up.

Apache burger is still there on Dundas just a few blocks east. Good food.

Beefsters , it was a Canadian version of Arby's. They had a location around Yonge and Dundas in the late 70's, I almost ended up working there as a teen.

John Anderson's

Lindy's steakhouse

"World's Biggest Jean Store"-south east corner of Yonge and Dundas

Radio Shack!
Which Radio Shack? Original, Tandy or Intertan?

That alone would date you

Radio Shack sued Radio Shack to stop using their name
I *thought* you were referring to original Radio Shack (1921) but then you responded they were re-branded as Source so you are referring to the second Radio Shack (1986)?

Radio Shack (1921) attempted to re-enter the market (2005) but has fully closed all stores now
Radio Shack (1986) always had a sub brand to differentiate (first Radio Shack by Circuit City later Radio Shack by Bell) and today all are owned by Bell and named The Source

. . . not to mention the original Mr. Sub.

Guess this list clearly dates me lol. Loved my days (and nights) in Yorkville.

Hahaha, Bargain Harold's! Totally forgot about that place.

There was a Licks just off St.George until just a couple years ago.
I remember Bargain Harolds. That whole plaza was redeveloped.

Good ol Etobicoke!

Further south of Bargain Harolds over on the West Mall (BH was on the East Mall) there was a Bi-Way.

I heard the BI-way was coming back with 3 stores in the GTA but Covid may have delayed that.

This is a fun column because it brings back the memories!

Anyone remember Mother’s Pizza on Dundas south of cloverdale mall?

It’s a bar called the Rock Pile now.

On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Greece
There is still a recognizable Red Barn building in Hamilton at the corner of Queenston Rd and Walter Ave. It's a Thai place now but you can still see the basic outline and the hipped-roof.
There's one in Burlington as well near New Street and Guelph Line.
