the HKer with money in the middle high or high class already have dual citizenship, kids outside the country, or have loop holes to funnel money out. It is the average middle class and low class that are protesting and stay to fight the ccp.

I don’t think that’s a fair assessment. Not everyone has the means to completely up root their entire life and move to a completely foreign land with or without the open arms of other countries. It’s not that simple.

Even though darts has ascribed positive attributes, to do so based simply on their race is the definition of racism. Someone says that certain races are A or B or C for no other reason than they are of that race. But you are right that they are not necessarily all law abiding. Gambling rings, drug rings, sex-trafficking. But to darts, because, and only because, they are Asians, they are all more desirable as immigrants than other races. (By the way, I am not against Asians as immigrants, or any other group.)

As they get closer and closer to the handoff date, there will be more and more protests and it will turn into terrorism shit. Once it turns into bigly terrorism, they become damaged goods and their options for immigration will be limited.

They've wanted to pivot the financial center from Hong Kong to Shanghai. The problem with that is Shanghai is very much like New Orleans. The area south of The Old City was once mostly residential, the PRC turned it into the financial district with a cluster of huge towers. The land can't support it, it's slowly sinking into the Yangtze. The Three Gorges Dam is a natural disaster, it's silting up faster than they can dredge it. The reduced river flow is causing Shanghai to sink into the river.

Honest question here...is it racist to prefer immigrants from certain parts of the world based on their abilities/willingness to assimilate and based on their potential success in helping the country's economy? People on this site and in society toss the term racism around like it's a frisbee so it's really losing its meaning a bit (some ppl see racism in everything and everywhere...even when it's not there). But to my eye, some immigrants seem to mesh better in Canada and other countries than other groups. They are my preference for immigrants. Is that racist or personal preference?
