Looks like the number of women requiring deposits is growing day by day

Paying in full is unusual and inappropriate. Did she insist you pay in full or was it your idea? It looks like you were able to get all your money back from her, but that still does not make it acceptable.
In my case , in one case for example, the lady needed to make rent. In the industry it can be feast or famine. Agencies and spas have gift card pre payment options as well. In theory fine. Some of them are works of art - Mirage has in the past been awesome.

Give my head a shake about what? You wrote about "investing" $300K or probably closer to $500K on these ladies over 20 years as if it's some grand act of charity. Were you expecting a humanitarian award for that? Why even mention this?

At least your comment was somewhat original instead of the usual no deposits and no screening routine.
Wow, I just didn't hit a nerve, I seriously triggered you. ( Be certain to scoff at that in your reply or the forum will deduct points from your scorecard )

Were you expecting a humanitarian award for that? You are in much pain here it's a little embarrassing.

Responding with your inner child will always hurt your repressed adult. Your reply is ripe for the picking however I will leave you alone because the self-debasing low hanging fruit you present is unattractive.

You may have the last word.

Have a nice day.

I would never and I never have sent deposit to a lady I don't know. And if a lady knows me, why is she asking for a deposit? Have I ever stiffed her to be demanding cash up front?

I was stupid, in hind sight for sure. I was trusting, and will continue to be, but won't make the same mistake twice.

In terms of business's doing that, they actually do. In some instances for special orders, or any kind of unique situation. Thats often the norm for parties too. It is certainly the norm for this provider
I didn't even think of party companies. In the post-covid world such businesses will need clear terms about refunds, credits, etc. or people should insist that they have them should an event be cancelled. That obviously doesn't apply with escorts, but at least you got your money back.

Sounds very reasonable, and I would agree, well established, well reviewed ladies should be trustworthy.

Except............ my experience is unfortunate.

A lady who advertises here regularly (daily), has many reviews (YMMV considered), took a full fee e-transfer, then cancelled, refused to return the fee by the same e-transfer. Just in case you think she didn't know me or I became rude, she reminded me before I sent the e-transfer that she remembered me (fondly ?) and she had the record because I had seen her twice over 2 or 3 years.

She finally agreed to meet me, 45 mins away from the incall and where I live, to pick up cash.

I will NEVER prepay.
And it is another valid concern. Why it is OK for SP to require deposit to make sure the client will show, but, at the same time, many SPs are late or cancel on clients without compensating them fro their time. Dis any SPs who demand deposit and later cancel the appointment last minute or was late by half an hour ever provide monetary compensation to the client (in addition to returning the deposit). Given legal asymmetry in prostitution law, it seems as it not a symmetric game. This is why I never see independent - only agency girls.

I don’t hide who I am from my clients. I don’t ask for deposits or ID.

Is it normal to have people to your house when you don’t know their name and actually phone number? Because that is something I do ask for since that is where I host my incalls. Quid pro quo in my opinion. There is enough shared info between the parties that both are equally aware of the other. I see nothing wrong with that.
You must be charging way less than other SPs since you've decided to work from you home instead of renting a separate place.

OK look at it this way. Like professional athletes, SPs have short work lifespan: by the age of 40 they must either retire or decrease their business significantly. So, they must save a lot during their young years. Hence, If SP say she has no money for rent, she is either lying or gas some bad habits (not necessary drugs) that resulted in bad financial situation. In either case, it is a red flag and reasonable clients should stay as far from her as possible.

I disagree at least in the past. Yes, in theory an sp working 2 years with a good investment portfolio could retire for life and be set but many sps are part time, or enter when there young and have bad financial management or do it for fun money. Some fest and assume there will be no famine until it happens. Some forget to pay the tax man and get hit by that one suddenly. I suppose if you call these bad habits sure - and I guess it could be a red flag for some. But everyone gets hit by bad luck.

I wasn't referring to you in particular in any part of my post.

I apologize to you and anyone else who were mislead to believe that.

I was following the thread about the disclosure booking policy in general and what is often, but not always asked for or given.
Thank you.

I hope that you understand from my posts that I agree with some of what you guys go through. I’m just trying to explain some of mine.

I think it is entirely fair to have a name, real phone number and SP reference when the client has my actual private home address and access to multiple reviews. I think it is fair game.

You must be charging way less than other SPs since you've decided to work from you home instead of renting a separate place.
Why must I be????? LOL. That is so laughable. Let me break it down for you because I know you will not understand.

I provide something that others don’t. Having the ability to go into a SPs personal private space, which my home is immaculate, well designed and comfy AF, is a unique service in its own right.

Many of my clients feel a stronger sense of intimacy being in my private home, they feel a stronger connection to me being in my personal space.

Also, many of my dates, we hang in the kitchen cooking a nice meal, playing on the counters while we wait for the food, we rest outside in my backyard while BBQing, copping feels and acting like horny teenagers. It is a completely different type of service. I would say as close to a GFE as possible.

For that experience, there is a cost factor. I actually charge one of the highest rates in Durham. There are barely any incalls set up the same as mine, and I say barely even though I actually don’t know if one. I’m just leaving room in case there is . Many are Motel 6 style incalls and not something that my type of clients want. They don’t want a stale business transaction. Some guys like it. But mine don’t.

So to answer your question, no I don’t charge WAY less simply because I don’t have the added expense of a separate location. My pricing is not based on expense but based on the services I provide.

Oh and PS - I am in my mid-forties. I started at 39. I can’t keep up with the amount of guys that want to book. I learned from the best. Miss Jessica Lee. Also a woman in her 40ties working successfully with a huge client following. I know other escorts in their 50ties working, padding their retirement funds with huge bank, so to say SPs have a shelf life is beyond rediculous.

I’m going to suggest that you remember everyone is different. Not everyone is like you and likes what you like and dislikes what you don’t like. There are MANY other people in this world who think and feel differently then you.

Years ago it seemed common, even the norm (with more established providers anyway) that if a lady cancelled she would offer some type of compensation such as a discount or extended time on a rebook. I'm not sure if that happens as much these days. Maybe self-entitled, self-victimizing twitter culture has something to do with it?

An SP comes to mind who I used to see, who was not the most reliable as fas as cancellations go, who I notice lately tweets often about time wasters and how she now requires deposits. She never offered me any compensation or even much of an apology when she cancelled. One time she seemed to get annoyed when I didn't respond to her last minute cancellation text quickly enough (I was in the shower getting ready and surprisingly don't take my phone in there). I laughed one time when she tweeted how "cancellations are very disrespectful" on the same day she had cancelled on me. As I say, I used to see her.

Another SP comes to mind who used to always give amazing compensation when she cancelled. I would actually hope that she would cancel because I loved the way she would make it up to me. I would still be seeing her today if I could. She was amazing. Sadly (for me) she has left the business now.

Given the nature of this business it's understandable that cancellations happen, on the side of both clients and providers. If sufficient notice is given, I think it's reasonable to be flexible and let it go. I also think it's reasonable to offer compensation if you cancel last minute. This applies to both clients and providers as well. If it's at the point that you have wasted someone's time, caused them to give up other activities to see you, had them expend time/energy/money on you, etc. at that point I think it's the right thing to do.

Well said. However this is a service industry and I have to say I have seen a huge drop in Canada service levels on average in the last few years. Some jurisdictions have improved. I suspect the current model is a bit of dinoasour and other things are happening in other venues - like the rise of lap dances in the 90s changed the dynamic back then.

I am glad you answered :). Well, you say that because you host from home, you have to know who your clients are. Which means that you want to save costs but, instead of reducing the price you ask your clients to cove these saved costs through revelation of their identity. Saying it different: you do not want to pay for your own anonymity (through renting a work place), which increases your risk. You rightly keep the price of this extra rental costs as self-insurance premium. However, on top of it, you ask clients to reveal their identity, hence, you transfer part of the risk to clients without compensation them. So, basically, you keep the insurance premium but do not want to provide full insurance coverage (same as like if hotel would charge the same rate but real name and address of a guest in a any room to anyone who ask)

In any business transaction where funds are being sent electronically, the sender should know exactly who they are sending the funds to for reason of security and safety among others. If the transaction is being sent for grey market activity, not black market since the lame duck law Bill C36 is not really enforced or enforceable then usually everything is ok but when it fucks up, it really fucks up. Just ask President Trump with his ex lawyer Cohen and Stormy Daniels or Elliot Spitzer or Ghislaine Maxwell or guys who used the Toronto based Ashley Madison service for shit that happened very very close to home !

The fact that there is a law that is not enforced is the first step to a policy state and dictatorship since such law can be applied selectively. The more laws like this we have, the easier it is for the government to control people: everyone can be made criminal by applying stupid law. I wish Bill C36 would be actively enforces so that people would have chance to fight it and it will be stroke down.

For me it's this simple.

I'm not so in need of a fuck with ANY woman that I will jump through the hoops lit on fire over the Shark Tank.

Especially to pay a premium rate.

And because I have no recourse in a bad situation no deposits. And yes I'm good with not seeing someone as result. It's just not that important to me.

It really depends on how you deal with someone that cancels at the last minute. Just with any business, you should always deal with escorts in good faith while being calm and polite. You can express your disappointment, but you must be willing and patient to work with her to find a solution like rescheduling. Or you can threaten bad reviews and demand nothing less than a full refund. In most cases, working with a business and / or escort in a calm and polite manner will yield better results. In the very few times that an indy cancelled on me I was calm and patient through the whole process and got a good outcome.

If you don't receive any response from the girl then you can certainly go ahead with a bad review, but I still think you need to be polite about it.

As many have pointed out, the risk is too high to provide confidential information and I definitely will never pay a deposit to see a lady. I don't even mention my Terb handle. Between many independents having platinum pussy syndrome with rates and the increase in demands, I don't even bother with the independent advertisers section anymore. There are plenty of great agency options, so that is my playground. Don't even get me started on LL. What a waste of time that place is.

Of course a lady is free to charge what she wishes and implement whatever screening methods make her feel safe. I definitely understand, as there are some questionable people out there. I just choose not to participate and the unintended consequences are that the lady loses a portion of her client base.
