a cover of the Falcons/Wilson Pickett hit
Good cover.

I love the 1962 original by the Falcons with Wilson Pickett on lead.

The version you posted is good, but I prefer Robert Ward's tremolo guitar on the original.
Robert playing through a Magnatone Vibroto amp, just like Lonnie Mack used later. Robert went on to form The Ohio Players.
I also believe Bo Diddley used Magnatone amps to get his tremolo sound.

Here's an early treasure, from 1961. Gary "U.S." Bonds, with Gene "Daddy G" Barge on tenor sax, doing "Quarter to Three"

Candy & The Kisses first release from 1964.

Written by Jerry Ross and Kenny Gamble after they saw some kids doing a dance they called "the 81" to Martha and the Vandellas hit "In My Lonely Room".

so i was driving this morning and i was listening to the Rolling Stones album12x5, and this tune played and as i listened i was reminded of this post by you....is this the same type of guitar sound?.....the one thing that endeared me to the early Stones was their uncanny ability to find R&B Soul songs and cover them well

Tammi Terrell, i believe, was the sister of Ernie Terrell the boxer back in the day.....she was a budding star at Motown Records, but was cut down at 24 years by brain cancer, dying far far to early.....Marvin Gaye, never got over her death.....but they made some wonderful music together
