Actually I said to folks who knew me in 2016 to not be surprised if he wins. At the time I owned a stock taking a beating under the Democrat's environmental policies. A couple of weeks into Trumpfarts presidency I was able to unload the dog for a nice profit. I actually didn't mind him at first. I knew he was an idiot but didn't believe he would cause as much harm to a country as he has. The US under Trump has become a shit show.

Not at all! I owned the stock prior to Trumpfart even being involved in the race. It didn't take a rocket scientist to know if he won the stock would soar. It was a solid company so had Hillary won it would have just remained as a long hold. Regardless of what I thought of him, the outcome would not change and I would have been a fool to not wait and see if he won and cash out or hold if he lost. This doesn't mean he would have received my vote if I had a vote. I knew he was a buffoon but didn't realize how much of a buffoon he actually is.

There is no doubt that a significant portion (I have no idea how many) of his base could not care less. I also believe that there are a lot of people who have been taken in by him.

The fascinating thing to me as an observer is how he commands support in the face of lying, cheating etc. and how he has convince his supporters to ignore objective reality and accept only his version of truth and facts. He has achieved pretty much nothing notwithstanding his continually touting deals of the century etc. He is probably the worst negotiator I have ever seen and yet his supporters are always talking about his deal making skills etc. He inherited a growing economy which he continually denigrated during the campaign and afterward and continued to grow it albeit more slowly. He promotes himself tirelessly with fictional accomplishments. He has undoubtedly the worst record for hiring people in history with virtually his entire cabinet having turned over with him subsequently calling them stupid losers etc and many having been indicted.

It is fascinating to me.

It is amazing - but a common thing if grossly overblown in Trumps case. Its like supporting the Leafs you know there going to lose every year and do nothing but its your team so you pretend the opposite.
