I am using closed cases that have been resolved, patients either recovered or died.

Your numbers include those who are infected but not resolved (they still have C19 and not yet died or recovered) and assuming that those that have not been resolved will all recover. Which is why your numbers are much lower.

What good bacteria are you talking about? The only good bacteria is in your gut, are you saying that people are drinking bleach and killing their gut bacteria? Or people are giving themselves bleach enemas?

Statistically but we know the numbers of death is highly inflated.
I think you would be more at home in Florida - they were singing your songs a few weeks ago and now are they suffering exactly how the scientists predicted.

With ~ 15 million in Ontario our last number in daily COVID-19 reports was 111 new cases, Miami with ~ 20 Million just reported 11,000 new cases.

As far as confirming survival rates - the USA has better health resources and an industrial capability ( although not useful if you have an idiot as president) than most countries you would be including in your statistics. They are the richest country with the most resources yet they are having a worse outbreak than in March while other countries who trusted their scientists have almost brought new outbreaks to a fraction of a percent..

I just hope all the wacko antivirus nut cases are behind me in the line when a tested COVID-19 vaccine is available.

It seems the virus has mutated to have more protein spikes and infects much more efficiently.

The problem with the US health care system is that hospitals operate on profit. The whole system is based on profit.

It was the worst time in history for America to have such a pandemic with a racist republican president. Now to make matter worst just a few months before election... I trust the USA would have it under control just like here in Canada, or Europe or japan, australia or any other rich nation if only they had a decent president. It all starts from the top.

Look even Ford in Ontario followed scientist advise. At the beginning of this many (myself included) feared he would not be the man for the Virus job but he proved us wrong I think.

I think Trump will be a one term president. He was elected as the anti-liberal. Now that two new SCOTUS judges and over 300 new federal judges have been appointed, there is a much more balanced judicial bench.

Back in March Trump did ban flights from China and later extended that to a general ban but constitutionally he had to allow offshore Americans back in to the U.S. and they brought the plague with them.

Darts the plague went to every country on earth. The difference was the response to it. Some countries have very bad results because they are poor countries. USA has currently very bad results because of a bad response. Even Republican gouverneur of texas admitted opening too early... He is right.

Exactly. And the hospitals get paid more for Covid patients. So everyone has Covid, whether they do or not.

If I can beg your indulgence for an off topic comment - the concept of hiring judges for life is one of the stupidest concepts I have ever heard. The US Supreme Court has a pile of stories about the deteriorating mental state of some of their supreme court judges. They should have 10-15 year term limits. The other problem I have is politicians picking judges based on their political affiliations. I don't care if it is left or right - the support for a judge by a party should be a strike against them. They are there to enforce the existing laws not to twist it to meet political ideals. Nominees should be presented by a committee of senior legal scholars supported by the ABA (American Bar Association). Note that ABA opposed Kavanaugh based on his past judgements and emotional stability but rather than go back and look for a more suitable candidate - the politicians pushed forward. The US has a lot of problems that will haunt them until they revamp their constitution from 18th century reality to the present 21st century reality.

Based on what facts ? Hospitals get paid by the procedures and care they provide not the particular affliction that lead to the treatment.

This alternate reality that people live in is proof our education system must be failing them. Sadly with COVID in the US - the reality of ignoring science is having dire consequences.

You make a lot of good points, however, I just want to point out that the ABA is a left wing organization.

Kavanaugh -- this was already discussed in detail in real time. Many people think he is a good choice.

"Our ruling: True
We rate the claim that hospitals get paid more if patients are listed as COVID-19 and on ventilators as TRUE.

Hospitals and doctors do get paid more for Medicare patients diagnosed with COVID-19 or if it's considered presumed they have COVID-19 absent a laboratory-confirmed test, and three times more if the patients are placed on a ventilator to cover the cost of care and loss of business resulting from a shift in focus to treat COVID-19 cases."

Sen. Scott Jensen, R-Minn., a physician in Minnesota, was interviewed by "The Ingraham Angle" host Laura Ingraham on

This is all I need to know. Right-Wing cherry fact picking.

Awwww... c’mon resist playing by their Playbook by instantly dismissing info based purely on the source.

In this case it seems to be true. And reasonable considering the extra expenses COVID precautions incur and the hospitals having to cut back on other procedures to allow capacity for Covid surges etc

Possibly but I can't take anything that is associated with Laura Ingraham seriously. It's like posts coming from Canadaman, it's just white noise. LOL

Left or right left depends on the what side of the scale you are viewing it from. To me they are typically a centralist fighting for individual rights of women, same sex, etc.

The first time I heard of Kavanaugh, he was trying to incarcerate a pregnant woman just long enough to prevent her from obtaining an abortion. If you are enforcing the law (ie Roe v. Wade - a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction ) then he was circumventing the law. Hardly an ideal candidate to support the law but ideal if you are plotting to try to change it.

He is in the mix now but he can stay in until he drops dead of old age- that is crazy.

I agree that that I was wrong. I was not aware that congress passed the Cares act that included a 20% (not three times) bonus to cover the additional economic impact by COVID19.

Their ruling: Half True

Obviously hearing from FOX news should put you on a high bullshit alert (unless that is your preferred diet). They are embarrassed that they participated in a huge pandemic resurgence and obviously will blame the hospitals in fabricating patients. It will be interesting how the explain the surge of deaths that follow.

If this is the same FOX trough of bullshit that has now resulted in States actually closing down again - why do people simply go to the same trough and eat more ???

Because like those who sell Pangolin scales to those who believe it will make their micro-penis' bigger, Fox is serving up what their patrons honestly believe is good and wholesome!
