Remember them (for seniors only)?

I'm not close to being a senior but this track gets regular rotation on my classic soul playlist. Love it to death. Great post!

This is ancient.....The Stylistics!

Just heard this this morning on the drive into the office. Sirius XM Soul Town. Such a beautifully composed song.

Some folks weren't aware Marvin Gaye could do more than just sing. He actually played drums, sax and keyboards too. This guy was a musical God. This instrumental is mind blowing for me. Thanks to DJ Jazzy Jeff I stumbled upon it.

Hey KD,

Here's one I really like from Barbara Mason - "Girls Have Feelings Too" from the same album. Agreed though that "Yes I'm Ready" is a total classic!

I cannot get enough...I repeat I cant get enough of Candi Staton…..like a lot of her ballads, she starts this song, slow sweet and sensual but by the middle to the end you get caught up in her powerful vocals to a crescendo of horns, complimenting her crying , pleading vocals

On June 19, 2020 Eric B. & Rakim's 3rd studio album, Let The Rhythm Hit Em, turned 30. My favorite song from that LP was In The Ghetto. Great samples of 24 Karat Black and Bill Withers on this joint.

On May 16, 2020 Ice Cube's debut solo album AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, turned 30. The album was a production masterpiece for Public Enemy's in house production team, the Bomb Squad. The sampling was ridiculous the title track alone incorporated 13 different sampled songs. My fav track on the album Ice Cube + Chuck D = ?

On April 15, 2020 Public Enemy's 3rd studio album, Fear Of a Black Planet, turned 30. While not at the level of It Takes a Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back, it's nonetheless a classic. My fav track from the album
