A while back I watched a video about the seeming inversion between the two parties from a policy perspective and their voter base. It was British but the concept still holds. I'll post it if I can remember what it was.

I attribute it to changing times and the polarization of activists at both extremes.
People are more concerned about Trump having peaceful protesters violently cleared out for a photo-op at a church with superficial damage.
Any person without criminal record can find minimum-wage job. Yes, it is minimum-wage job and it is very close to poverty, but if children go to school to learn, they can easily get into college and get full financial aid. Lots of immigrants (Korean, Russian) came to US without any money barely able to speak English, yet, most of the were able to go up in life and provide a future to their children

So true. All or almost all of them didn't have the advantage of speaking English when they arrived and their children managed to attend Ivy League colleges without affirmative action and/or artificially inflated SAT scores and moved on to good careers.

You have no idea how the US system works and how people get refused upon sight. Ask the people who have been turned away in favour of others who are were NOT superior in terms of credentials. So many strides made over the 400+ year history of the USA have been thwarted. Build something prosperous, have it burned down. Rinse and repeat.
