When there was a protest a few days ago, how much rioting took place?
Read the article.

They have been following online talk and are just preparing.

The article says BLM is planning a peaceful protest but a small minority, not related to BLM, are possibly looking for to start shit.

They have to follow up with precautions.

It may happen, it may not and if it does, it doesn't mean it is a reflection of BLM or what they are trying to peaceful protest.

There was looting along Rue St. Catherine, the main shopping street of Montreal last night. Along with peaceful protesters there were the usual yahoos taking advantage of the opportunity to smash store windows and steal whatever they could. There is a video online of a large number of looters who smashed the windows of Steve's Music Store, running out of the store with one and two guitars at a time. Effects pedals as well. I guess the amps were too heavy...

I think there is a greater chance of another shootout between rival gangs over rioting and looting. Hopefully both do not happen since innocent people will get hurt

If Tory tells our cops to stand down like the Minneapolis and NYC Mayors have done, he better be prepared to resign.

If a peaceful protest prevents the police to do their job to prevent looting and arrest the looters (e.g., by continuing the protest and not clearing the streets when the looting happens or blocking the roads so that police cannot get where needed fast) it is no longer a peaceful protest. "Peaceful protectors" were fast to get the truck driver who carefully drove into the crowd (no injuries) - they beat him up and hand him over to the police. However, I did not hear any news saying that peaceful protectors caught looters and hand them to the police. When bricks starting to fly, peaceful protesters must go home immediately so that police can do their job to arrest people who through bricks.

Cops should be on the lookout for the Antifa Busses. Hope everyone realizes by now it isn't Torontonians that are responsible for the mayhem.

Agreed with several of the posters here.

It won't be BLM that causes the trouble. They're too smart for that.

It will be some anarchists and professional sh$t disturbers. Along with the usual opportunists.

Problem is that the peaceful protesters of a just cause are going to get caught up in this whole thing and blamed for it.

Hope I'm wrong.

With all the opportunities for chaos in the US now, why would antifa bother w Canada??

I think the chances of a significant protest are pretty low. In the US, protests have been happening every day for a week. In Canada, a couple on the weekend and then zilch.

My old man used to say: 'If you don't want to get your nose broken in a bar fight, don't go to a bar where there is likely to be a fight'. Anyone who joins these protests now, should know and understand exactly what they are getting themselves into by attending and participating. I have zero sympathy for those that find themselves 'caught up' in the truth of what will likely occur.

for me the question is how many weeks of quarantine are going down are the drain

these densely packed manifestations invalidate the need to keep locking the economy

I support peaceful protests if that is their plan, they are responsible for their own health concerns about covid of course. But if there's looters or people destroying small businesses they better get shot and/or arrested. No sympathy for scum like that. My sympathy is reserved for the peaceful protestors and business owners who have stores there.

I have seen a lot of white people exploting the protests. It is not right to blame black people for violence. There are always a small % that take things too far but I support the need for protest. Nothing is changing and the incidents continue unabated. I think the call to end police brutality serves ALL Canadians. We cannot accept this at all.

I disagree BLM screwed up several times and lost a lot of support in TO. They screwed with pride and blocked highways. But the left has Antifa that will create enough problems.

Im holding you to this statement.

ANTIFA was filmed destroying store fronts in Hamilton last year after a rally. The police basically gave them an escort.

If you are too ignorant to understand that ANTIFA is a global group, then you need to crawl out from under your big rock.

I just hope the media tells the truth if ANTIFA start problems and tell the sleepy people it was KKK or white MEN.

Even before last night in Montreal they had a lot of problems with protests and rioting.
