1. The Police as an excuse to crack down and prevent further peaceful protest.
2. White Nationalists looking to provoke 'The Bugaloo' by ratcheting up racial tension.
3. Anarchist/Black Bloc types who think the way to solve things is to break the current system via "propaganda of the deed".

I think most people are focusing their outrage on the policemen that murdered Floyd.

The idea that citizens of all races should just take any abuse and be satisfied with a bunch of lawyers getting rich from letting the courts take care of this, has not been shown to be effective.

One of the police officers has now been arrested and charged, but we also need a large scale federal investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department and system-wide reform."

The problem does not appear with the police leadership. The Chief who is black and many other of the top police officers etc that the force used is out of policy and never has been acceptable. The problem seems to be in probably a small minority of police officers that seem to overreact or perhaps racist but it is not evident until these events happen.

Right now the protest is peaceful with marching in the streets. THat is all good and well. But when peaceful protests have been going on since 1968 and there are recurring incidences of black men being killed by policemen without any consequences for the policemen, you have to agree that maybe something else is needed. I am no more in favour of riots than you are, but they cannot be unexpected, when there are millions of unemployed people without any prospects or hope for the future.

Violence at the CNN office seems a strange response as they are one of the organizations giving lots of coverage to anti-black racism.

If I was conspiracy minded, I could see thinking that the violence was because someone didn't like that coverage.
