I think most people are focusing their outrage on the policemen that murdered Floyd.
The idea that citizens of all races should just take any abuse and be satisfied with a bunch of lawyers getting rich from letting the courts take care of this, has not been shown to be effective.
What do you suggest the people should do?
Maybe a third are peaceful protesters expressing their outrage. When you start fires and loot the communities usually minority owned business you are a criminal thug and should be arrested once the police have the manpower over the criminal mobs. flooding Minneapolis.
What to do? Vote, show up at city meetings or follow the powerful ideas in the speech Amy Klobuchar just did on CNN. Or as her twitter comments says, "George Floyd’s murder is etched in the minds of everyone across our country. One of the police officers has now been arrested and charged, but we also need a large scale federal investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department and system-wide reform."
The problem does not appear with the police leadership. The Chief who is black and many other of the top police officers etc that the force used is out of policy and never has been acceptable. The problem seems to be in probably a small minority of police officers that seem to overreact or perhaps racist but it is not evident until these events happen.
Right now the protest is peaceful with marching in the streets. The criminals mostly come out late at night and Mpls intel is Sat night might be worse than Friday's riots so massive law enforcement is beginning to stage and organize in the largest law enforcement action in MInn history to try and protect property and safety against the criminal/thugs in the city - many that are coming from other parts of the US.
