They are not vicious unless they are trained to be. They are great dogs, very loyal and trainable.

In Denmark, German Shepherds are called police dogs in everyday language, because most of them were working dogs. They are that smart and reliable.

They were called police dogs in WNY as well. Nobody has mentioned Rin Tin Tin, I'd watch that before I'd watch Lassie...

I love sheepdogs very much. I have my only and favorite shepherd "lightning" I have dreamed of a shepherd since childhood and once I bought a puppy, but he had an allergy and it was a big problem because I did not know how to feed the dog. Then I went to the vet and he advised me to feed special food and combine it with natural food, he said that there is the Best Dog Food For Pitbulls and Sheepdogs. I decided to do so and it helped especially porridge, I cooked porridge for my little lightning. Now lightning is a very energetic and healthy dog

I love the show Hudson and Rex, brings back fond memories. Once you've owned one they spoil you for other dogs.

Guido came into my family to guard the tool crib where my father worked. I took to training him. German Shepherds will keep you fit, to train them properly they have to be run at least four times a week. A leisurely walk to take care of business wont. It didn't take long for a leash to become unnecessary. After awhile, he was running me. When my father retired, he became strictly my pooch.

The stars of Hudson and Rex, John Reardon and the four legged God called Diesel vom Burgimwald.

Also a great breed and requiring tons of time and training is the smaller Belgian Sheppard.

The Malinois though not suitable for my home is my favourite, If I had more property I would definitely own one.

Had a couple around in the old country, one in particular was a reason why I do not get too close to animals anymore.

Spent many wonderful years with her, she used to shower with me, and be always close by and would eat from any of the family members.

I travelled to further my education, and shortly after she passed away.

It was a few years after her passing, my mother finally admitted to me that after I left for studies, she refused to eat from anyone.
