If reinfection cases have been verified, I wonder if the symptoms are diminished as compared to the first infection?
Or maybe if their respiratory system has been damaged from the first attack the effect this time will be exacerbated? If reinfection cases have been verified, I wonder if the symptoms are diminished as compared to the first infection?
Virus is extremely contagious (see link for an example). You are here to-day because your ancestors knew when to be foolish and when to be prudent. Now is not the time to be foolish.

He tested positive for covid, and so will you, eventually. And just like him, you will not even know it and recover.Virus is extremely contagious (see link for an example). You are here to-day because your ancestors knew when to be foolish and when to be prudent. Now is not the time to be foolish.

Actually, I would prefer not to get it in the first place. I am prepared to take any reasonable precautions. There is a theory out there that some people have had a mild exposure to the virus and never knew about it. In fact, there is will soon be a study to deliberately infect volunteers to test a potential vaccine. He tested positive for covid, and so will you, eventually. took a drive on Saturday to Niagara on the lake and Niagara Falls to get out of the house. Yes, Clifton Hills were packed with people lining up at all the shops that were open. No one wearing masks. I would normally attribute this to fat stupid americans but since the border is closed...Saw a video on Tik Tok (guilty pleasure) taken in Niagara Falls supposedly today. Sidewalks jam-packed with people, didn't see any masks. According to the creator it was today, and was confirmed in other comments.
Also saw comments saying major disregard for distancing in many parks in Toronto.
Does not bode well for an early end to this...
Masks are more about not releasing droplets when you breathe/speak than protection. Everything any legit scientist says it is highly transmittable. It seems (but we don't know for sure without more widespread testing) more lethal by a factor of 10 vs normal flu (1% v .1%).Virus is nowhere near as contagious as fear mongers purported
The death toll was essentially a handful of old age homes
And for the idiots saying wear a mask; it NEEDS to be a medical N95 mask otherwise it has NO EFFECT
Might as well wear a scarf for all the false protection you are getting
I would say your observation says something about the type of person that frequents Clifton Hills versus Niagara on the Lake.took a drive on Saturday to Niagara on the lake and Niagara Falls to get out of the house. Niagara on the lake wasnt as bad. the main street had a decent amount of people but most of the shops were closed aside from a couple of gelato stores. More people wearing masks though. The place was like Sturgess. WTF? Half the crowd were retiree bikers roaring up and down Queen St...
I visited 2 ON hospitals in past week and both totally empty (I was crowing in other thread about what great service they had and how quick you go through vs the normal hours of delays pre-pandemic)hospitals were empty during the lockdowns.
Manhattan's hospitals were not tiny rural hospitals in northern Italy. Overwhelmed staff, morgues so full they had to get refrigerated trucks to hold the corpses.I visited 2 ON hospitals in past week and both totally empty (I was crowing in other thread about what great service they had and how quick you go through vs the normal hours of delays pre-pandemic)
There is a 3rd hospital within walking distance to my home and it looks abandoned; I commented multiple times lots were empty as I strolled by
The whole rumour of overwhelming hospital and supply shortages was nothing more than fear mongering
The only places worldwide that got "overwhelmed" were some tiny rural hospitals in middle of nowhere north Italy
Its actually funny how full circle this pandemic has come
China had virus said a few deaths no big deal
Then Italians running around acting like its end of the world spooked western countries
Now we have virus and most realized it is not a big deal at all; plus most deaths are old people in homes (over 70 years accounts for 87% of Canadian deaths)
Turns out China was right and Italians were the true idiots in the storyline
If people who have been exposed to the actual virus don't build up an immunity to it then no vaccine will ever be effective. That is not even remotely true. Even if you don't die the first time you get it, you could the second time... or the third time. And there is already plenty of evidence against herd immunity now. People are getting re-infected all over the place. Also, we still have NO idea the longer term affects this has.
Kids are literally having heart attacks post Covid. And this is JUST the start.
Wise up.
That's because all non essential procedures were cancelled. Many of those beds would have had patients recovering from surgeries in them. The backlog and waiting time for surgeries is another disaster to arrise from this pandemic panicI visited 2 ON hospitals in past week and both totally empty (I was crowing in other thread about what great service they had and how quick you go through vs the normal hours of delays pre-pandemic)

If masks don't work why are all the health care workers demanding them? And why wear one around a covid-19 patient, after all they already have the virus they are not about to catch it from you?Masks are more about not releasing droplets when you breathe/speak than protection. Everything any legit scientist says it is highly transmittable. It seems (but we don't know for sure without more widespread testing) more lethal by a factor of 10 vs normal flu (1% v .1%).
But we all agree we want to be open and as close to "normal" as soon as we can. We know people will get it. Just like they get the flu. That's life. But the question is how do you manage it so you don't overwhelm the hospitals? That has a synergistic effect on the death rates as well when those severely infected can't get intubated. And you further wreak havoc on your healthcare workers through burnout and they also die.
Thus - an honest accounting of the rates (as many claims of undercount as overcount). And then report honestly who is most at risk. And then develop plans that more smartly target protecting the vulnerable. But be honest. The full open of economy = x deaths. Partial mitigation = x-y deaths plus gov't financial intervention. Full mitigation = x-y-z deaths plus more gov't financial intervention. Then...what do you think we should do citizens? What would you want? How many deaths by whom are worth the tradeoff? Then own it.
