If Trump is still trailing in the polls as the November election draws closer I predict that Trump throws Pence under the bus and replaces him with Nikki Haley to try to give himself a boost.

I predict Pence is out and Haley is in some time in September 2020.

Nikki won't take the job. She is enjoying the private sector and setting herself up for a run later. You will know when she writes the book and starting appearing on cable news again. At least a year before she steps back in.

If Trump wins she may take another cabinet position. But I doubt it.

Let's hope so. Because if Trump turns on Pence, Pence will start singing like a canary. And he knows where the bodies are buried.

LOL...Pence is too much of a lap dog to turn on Trump at this point. Plus...if conservatives have to choose between Trump and Pence there is no way that Pence will survive. So, whether Pence likes it or not his success in life is directly linked to Trump’s being successful...even if Trump turns on him...What a loser!

I voted yes because I thought it would be a brilliant move as far back as 2018.

Here are the reasons for selecting Haley as far back as 2018.

- First and foremost, you bring an accomplished and articulate woman on to the ticket. This helps with those suburban female voters. It will certainly cancel out Biden's case when he selects a female running mate.
- Nikki Haley makes the ticket less white even if it's by ethnicity alone.
- The successful daughter of immigrants is always an intriguing backstory.
- At 48, you bring in a much younger and dynamic candidate..

Butler1000, Nikki Haley has written a few books. I believe one was released fairly recently.

Memoirs? Curious because there is usually a hype that goes with it.

But I stand by my statement otherwise. I think her ambition extends to 2024 and not as a second banana. She looked at the backlash as UN rep for Trump and realized ties to him will hurt her brand.

If we see a sudden uptick in her media appearances perhaps. But I think she is playing a longer game.

Hitching herself to Trump at this point in time would be a serious mistake.

The economy is going to sink big time, and Trump is going to go completely unhinged as he realize that he will lose.

It makes no difference who the second person on the ticket is.

Yes, memoirs. She wrote an autobiography Can't Is Not an Option: My American Story in 2012. In November 2019, she released her memoirs of her time as UN Ambassador With All Due Respect: Defending America with Grit and Grace.

Is it possible the liberal media didn't cover these releases because she's a future Republican Presidential hopeful? Nawwww!

Ok, that's fair enough. The release may have been timed for a 2020 replacement run if Trump had gone down. That of course didn't happen. No horse race, no news and speculation on who is running.

That's what usually happens. It's not about hyping the book, but the race.

I still think 2024 is her shot. The timing works either to replace Trump or take on the aging Biden.

I can't see Biden running for re-election in 2024. That's why his VP choice is more interesting. In the event Biden wins, a strong Democratic VP selection is going to have a leg up on the field in 2024. It might ward off the far left potentials of the party.

True to a second term on Biden. It would be a open field.

And I think progressive voters now realize that the Dem leadership are a lost cause and co opted by the lobbyists.

Now that they realize the true internet fundraising potential they are going to work grassroots to either primary out or even get independents elected. Whether a third party can rise soon I just don't know. The internet is a game changer.

How do you think her memoir compares to Triggered by Don Jr? Do you think his stupid book got enough attention in the press?

Why do you think a 3rd party has not emerged in the US? I believe it’s the only western democracy with a 2-party system?

When AOC said that if she were in another country she would not be in the same party as “establishment” Dems she was criticized by many progressives for being divisive...but she wasn’t wrong either.

The only one with a plan for that was Warren.

The two parties are now fully co opted. And so is the corporate owned media.

It comes down to money and airtime. The internet is changing that. On both counts.

In 2012 2 million voted third party, in 2016 7 million.
I'm waiting to see what the count is this time to see if it's a trend. One other trend is in the 80's over 80% of the population registered as one of the two parties. Now it's 60% split even.

The primary system and having to register leans toward the two parties. And helps them identify voters to target, gerrymander, get all the media attention, use the divisions to create simple tribalism.

It's my belief now that the proliferation of smartphones and internet penetration to the masses is waking people up. Add in alternative media that is rising steadily and crowdfunding made easy and this may be the beginning of the tipping point.

It's generational as well. Socialism isn't a dirty word to those under 40. In ten years they may reach a population point to make a difference.

Hah! That's funny. There are literally millions of grassroots activists working towards this goal. Warren is a milqutoast rep at best. Her endorsement of Clinton proved that.

She was the only one with a chance and a plan.
