How cute. Doggy's bumping his own thread (you must be so proud of it compared to the other 2? 3? threads about Sweden) to keep it on the main page.

Adorable.
Had you bothered to read and understood the article linked "Sweden says its coronavirus approach has worked. The numbers show a different story" you would have understood the importance of the numbers and the stark difference they represent between Sweden and it's immediate bordering neighbours who saw the spread of the Coronavirus in the same timeframe as one another with different ways in fighting the spread of the virus.

Hmm. Sweden's death rate doesn't seem to be going down despite all the 'herd immunity' they developed.

Only theory I have is their testing is either severely backlogged or inaccurate
But Norway is in no way better than Sweden is (yet) and other Neighbors (such as Netherlands who is far more like Sweden in terms of international travel) are way worse

Sweden has stable number of cases, but deaths have started to decrease

Denmark seems stable, still high case + death counts but significantly lower than their spike

On a 14 day trend which is very important in the fight against the Coronavirus not only has their death rate not gone down, also the number of daily cases has not gone down, as well as the number of daily deaths has not gone down either.
Meanwhile in both Denmark and Norway the numbers of daily cases as well as the daily deaths has significantly gone down on a 14 day cycle.
Denmark has been reporting single digit daily deaths on a 14 day cycle except for only two days, Norway has been reporting one digit daily deaths for 3 weeks now, meanwhile Sweden has been reporting tens and sometimes onver a 100 daily deaths on a 14 day cycle.

It's also been shown that the Swedish government is purposely trying to exaggerate the effects of keeping non essential businesses open has had on the Swedish economy, meanwhile the data has shown otherwise.

Your definition of spiking is different than the actual definition of the word. Your theory on Norway's testing is just that a theory which is non factual.

Norway's number of daily deaths have not been spiking. In the last 14 day cycle the numbers of daily deaths in Norway is below 10/day and with numerous days of zero daily deaths.
Norway's testing is far better than Sweden with half the population of Sweden they have done more than 2.5X/Mln tests than Sweden. So no they are not backlogged or inaccurate as you claimed them to be.

Sweden's number of daily cases and deaths are similar in a 14 day cycle with no significant decrease.
Sweden, Denmark, and Norway share so many similar geographical, socilogical criteria's to one another comparing Sweden to any other country than it's immediate neighbours is a ridiculous comparison to make and one that is made illogically in an attempt to paint Sweden as a success which it absolutely is not compared to it's immediate border neighbours.
So yes Norway, Denmark are fairing way better than Sweden is.

Your interpretation of the numbers totally contradicts the WHO (link alr provided)
So commenting on my theory being "invalid" is rather laughable

What other theory would you posit?
Cases are decreasing significantly but deaths increasing significantly says to me a flaw in testing

Only other similar scenario would be a major outbreak (eg like in a couple nursing homes where huge percent are fatal)

Norway has a population of just over 5Mln, Sweden has a population of just over 10Mln
Norway 205 000 tests VS 148 000 tests Sweden
Norway 37 000 tests/Mln population VS 14 000 tests/Mln population

Sweden's number of daily cases over the last 14 day cycle has not decreased significantly, here are the numbers starting April 28-May 11th

695, 681, 790, 428, 562, 235, 404, 495, 702, 705, 642, 656, 401, 348

Sweden's number of daily deaths have not decreased over the last 14 day cycle starting April 28th-May 11th

81, 107, 124, 67, 16, 10, 90, 85, 87, 99, 135, 45, 5, 31

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/sweden/

Norway has over the last month and even over the last 14 dyas reduced the number of daily cases as well as daily deaths over the last 14 day cycle April 28th-May 11th, they have not seen spikes in deaths as you claim
Daily Cases:
61, 50, 28, 45, 26, 38, 57, 51, 41, 38, 36, 29, 6, 27

Daily Deaths:
1, 1, 3, 0, 1, 0, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 5

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/norway/

Your assertion that Norway is backlogged or inaccurate in testing and see the above as spike in deaths is non factual.

So in other words #FAKENEWS
I really don't understand how someone can actually see and understand the following 14 day cycle numbers of daily deaths and say there are spikes in these miniscule numbers.
Norway over the last 14 day cycle has had only 3 days with multiple deaths, they also have 3 other days of zero deaths with the other 8 days only having 1 death/day.
Daily Deaths:
1, 1, 3, 0, 1, 0, 3, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0, 5

His definition of spiking numbers is different than what the actual word means.

DS99:

You spoke regularly of Sweden's healthcare system being on the 'brink' of overloading and possible collapse.

Surely it has happen by now? Where's the links and evidence of your predictions from earlier in the thread?

Everyone:

This is doggystyle99's personal jerk-off to thread about how he's so right about Sweden. He will keep posting regularly (nearly daily) updates to keep it on the main page of threads.

It's a trap to suck in members to argue with him. Let him have his little thread here. In 6 months and again 12 months we can re-visit the stats and actually see how these countries handled the virus, over the long term, not just a daily boner exercise for DS99.
Is he still blowing his load over useless case-fatality rates?

Ontario has 1725 deaths out of 20907 known cases for a case-fatality rate of 8.25%.
This is a totally useless stat as it is not even remotely accurate.
It is also totally useless for making comparisons to other places because there is no standard for how many have been tested and who is being tested.
If Ontario had tested half as many people now, and presumably found half as many cases, the case fatality rate would be 1725/10453 = 16.5%.
Ontario`s extremely limited testing has been focusing on old-age and long-term facilities, sick people, and frontline workers, samplings where infection rates are higher.
If the testing was broad, diverse, and randomized, they would have found way fewer cases so again the denominator would be way smaller, so the case-fatality rate would be way higher.

Sweden has tested less than 2% of the population and Ontario is close to 3%.
If Sweden had tested 50% more people now, similar to Ontario`s percentage, their case-fatality rate would be around 8% instead of 12%.
Of course these case-fatality numbers are all totally useless as the real (infection) fatality rate is likely less than 1%.
Sweden`s per capita number of deaths is higher but their infection rate is also higher so there is probably little difference in the IFR.
