There is really no 0% risk if you think about it...people are still ordering takeout...essential workers are still in business...even most of those essential workers don't wear masks(including grocery workers)...so as far as I see it the quarantine isnt really doing fuck all in the grand scheme of things...its something we're gonna have to come to terms with and government won't be able to afford to keep everyone at home....
Your certainly entitled to your opinion even if it's non factual.
But facts are without self isolation the number of confirmed cases would be substantially higher and with that there is an increase for those who will need critical care in hospitals which will ultimately overburden the healthcare system. Exactly what happened in many countries and what is currently happening in New York.
The sooner everyone understands this the sooner we can all get back to normal and do the things we enjoy doing.

Sorry sport but it's going to take more than a suggestion from you to have me move anywhere . LMFAO
Actually, I'd just prefer a little more respect for fellow Canadians instead of painting them with such a wide brush.

Toronto is planning to re open injection sites for junkies and other seimilar delinquents while a the the same time telluns law abiding people to stay at home and live in fear of virus that is milder than the seasonal flu and threatening us with fines and arrests. I have no patients end the lock down now. if junkies can go out and inject dangerous illegal chemicals in them, why can't the rest us go back to work?

I don't get the continued references to Sweden and how they're doing ok. They have 4.5 million or so less people than the province of Ontario and 864 more deaths than we do. By what metrics is that doing okay? They're getting their asses kicked.

Don't even bother. It's like throwing a brick into the mud. You won't even hear a solid thud.

No fear here. I base my opinion on what healthcare professionals and agencies (provincial, federal, international) have said, I base my opinion based on what has happened throughout the world, I base my opinion based on the numbers that are currently happening. Meanwhile an irrational and willfully oblivious person like you keeps touting nonsense which are solely fictional.

Chris Cuomo from CNN has the virus for 2 weeks now . He's living in the basement of his house . He explains what is happening to him and what he's going through . Chris is only 49 and is in great shape . He doesn't paint a pretty picture . He's gone through some rough days and still is. He said the other night that his wife has it now . He has 3 kids living up stairs . Don't think that they will be there for long . Time to move them to a safer place .

As for TeeJay . There aren't enough bad words to describe him .
Yap and his wife got it now. With all the precautions they took she still got infected.
Again airborne.

I thought the search for the SARS vaccine died in 2003 when the virus just stopped dead in its tracks for some reason...
SARS was more deadly but far less contagious. It also didn't seem to have many asymptomatic carriers which means it was easy to isolate the sick. But it is still around somewhere and like Ebola, I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if it or a closely related variant pops up again.

Oh cmon you dont believe in magic???
Quarantine is extremely effective in fighting viruses. The host either dies or their immune system learns to fight the disease, there is no longer anywhere for the virus to go. The problem with this one is the asymptomatic carriers so it still gets around. The only way to truly defeat it is if every person was given 21 days of supplies and forced to isolate and we know that won't happen. If it happened world-wide, the virus would die out (or at least be limited to whatever animal reservoir it came from.

... tawan only 8 deaths ...
Which has to do with them immediately starting testing and mandatory quarantine of every incoming traveller and contact tracing for people infected. They also have high compliance on masks and even little kids have learned to regularly disinfect everything they come in contact with. It's easy to get by with limited restrictions when you make it extremely hard for the virus to get in.

Sweden on the other hand is fucked.
