It becomes increasingly hard to believe when a provider charges 500/h and just got back from a luxury vacation only to incessantly tweet online about how she is going to get evicted and go back to living with her parents....

Case and point: https://mobile.twitter.com/Miss_EllaBlack
In this particular case it is not an eviction.
She had a planned moved coming up so she gave noticed months ahead. Most likely the landlord had promised the place to someone to move in so she had to leave.
Turned out her new building, due to State of Emergency, is enforcing a strict rules of not allowing anyone to move in.

I noticed that there is a lot less activity on the Terb and Merb forum .
I can't believe that some of you are still hobying or that there are still lady's offering there service.
It is a very hard time right now.
Merb is offering free ads to all independent sp's for the month of March.
Good luck to everyone in the business providers and customers alike.

I too was abit shocked to see CMJ staying open after the other spas closed so I sent them an email to share my disappointment. Jasmin personally wrote me back from her personal email. In her words

"Thank you for your email and concern, it means so much that you have taken the time to reach out to us directly. Yes, this an unprecedented time we are finding ourselves in and it is very scary. We are taking it very seriously, regardless of what some are saying on Twitter - we even cancelled our St. Patty's day party on March 12 which was scheduled for March 13th BEFORE the WHO declared it a pandemic and before the government asked Ontarians' to self quarantine and before businesses were asked to voluntarily close. Many of our staff have chosen to stop working and we have supported their choice and even encouraged it. However, this happened so fast (the government asking non essential businesses to close) that many of our staff were not prepared financially so we are helping them by giving them some extra time and most have stopped working once they had enough funds to get them through the next bit. Some of these women have zero savings and have mouths to feed. The risk is still relatively low in Ottawa as there is only 13 confirmed cases all of which, are related to international travel. We are monitoring the situation daily and assessing risk daily and more then likely won't be open next week, we are just buying the ladies who want and NEED to work, some more time. Lets be real here, there is a huge possibility that this isn't going to be over in a few weeks - it may be months! And when you have no food in your cupboards and no diapers and no family to support you... I WILL NOT abandon my staff in their time of need, regardless of whether this causes you to look differently at CMJ. These ladies wont qualify for the goverment handouts or EI as they are in a cash business. Some spas closed without warning to their staff and some have asked us if they can come and work at CMJ just to make some last minute emergency money! I am also exploring a way to secure some emergency funds for my staff as well as other SW in Ottawa to help them get through this time. Contrary to the accusations of some, this has nothing to do with greed and everything to do with helping these ladies transition into the tough times ahead.

I hope this helps clarify things and I hope you understand where CMJ is coming from.

Kindest regards,

Elizabeth aka Jasmin

It really doesn’t matter why you’re still open, Jasmin. Social distancing does not work when people like you do not adhere to it. Do you want Canada to be like Italy or South Korea? Every business owner can find a way to rationalize staying open. It’s irresponsible, dangerous and could have dire consequences. The same time you think you’re helping your girls you’re potentially seriously harming the rest of us. Every day you stay open you’re literally playing Russian roulette.

A silver lining in this (and I am choosing my word very carefully as I am absolutely not trivializing this pandemic) is many SPs who have questionable attitude will have to move on from this and find other jobs that suit them better.

Only the ones with a strong work ethic and good customer service skills will survive and thrive. Make no mistake about it: This is a customer-oriented industry and attitude is everything.

We have all seen similar stuff happen after BP shutdown. I don't wish anyone to lose their job but not all ladies can do this line of work and the sooner they realize that, the better it is for them and clients alike.

Jasmin's argument that the risk in Ottawa is low is wrong on 2 counts- there are many more cases in the community and Ottawa is not a bubble. There are 872 cases in Canada (up 20% in last 24 hrs) and growing exponentially. Without social distancing, we'll eventually be as bad as other area. I cannot tell if she is misinformed, ignorant or greedy. Everyone has to do the

FYI - curve is not flattening in ON or Canada as a whole. And we are running out of time to slow things own. Just look at US or worse, Europe

This is what I want people to look at and think about before judging too harshly. Even if you dont agree with it.
This has nothing to do with agreeing with it. In the end this will increase the spread of the virus and will kill more people overall. This is life and death there is no room for what you are saying.

We all have someone we love we could lose from this we may not lose if people do what the government has asked of us.

A few of the CMJ girls still working are even circulating conspiracy theories on twitter. Incredible how dumb some people are. Glad I never spent time with these morons.

Exactly - people who say "there are only a few cases in Ottawa" don't seem to get that those are only the positive tests. Many people with symptoms are not tested, I'm sure some with mild symptoms never seek medical attention, and then there are those who are carrying the virus and don't know it due to having no symptoms. I think health officials have been quite clear - Act like you have the virus, not like you don't. The idea behind social distancing is to prevent giving it to someone else (because we all need to assume we have it), not just to prevent getting it from someone else.

This whole thing has really soured my view of a lot of SPs and establishments that I previously held in decent/high regard. I'm also seeing a pattern of entitlement that I haven't seen in other professions or employment sectors. The go fund me asks, the I NEED to work when many other people in lower paid or more precarious situations are following advice and doing their bit.

I also can't think of a more effective vector/way to infect people than sex work. There are very few jobs that have you getting up that close with numerous people with no indication as to their health status.

So selfish.

I am really disappointed in seeing a few providers that I respected still advertising. Especially, since some of them normally promote safe services only. At the moment there is no such thing. Even ones who have lectured about unsafe services. They might as well be offering unprotected services at this point.

Why are you guys expecting so much out of a provider that can see 6 or more guys a days . A lot of these providers do everything except BBFS . ,, so they are used to the idea of being exposed to STDS and who knows what else . They live in the dangerous lane all the time . Only reason there open is cause Johns are visiting.
And don't forget even during good times johns are also exposing themselves , and who knows who else to STDS and other stuff . Who are we to judge ? We are not much better. Some seam to think very highly of themselves ,lol, meanwhile they were getting BBBJ, and DATY 2 weeks ago. Very hypocritical.
I don't agree with them working , but just explaining why they think that way .

Meanwhile , I got my porn hub on , and lots TP.

Be safe

You simply can’t compare potentially harming yourself with an std and covid-19 which could kill others. Not even in the same ballpark.
