One dead in triple shooting on Hwy. 400
One of three men wounded in a shooting involving two moving vehicles on Highway 400 Saturday night has died.
Toronto Police say they were called to a Finch Ave. gas station around 7 p.m. after the three victims exited Hwy. 400 and reported the shooting.
Duty Insp. Stacey Davis told reporters the victims were driving south on the busy highway, between Steeles Ave. W. and Finch Ave. W., when the gunshots rang out.
The driver was able to make it to the gas station despite having been shot while behind the wheel. The driver’s side of the vehicle was riddled with bullet holes.
One of the victims was shot in the back while a second was hit in his calf, Davis said. Both are expected to survive.
However, the third man was shot in the head and was fighting for his life Saturday night. Police said Sunday morning he had died.
Davis said empty shells casings were found on the highway — a section of which was shut down while cops investigated.
No suspect description was immediately available.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the triple shooting, or dashcam video, to come forward
